Ordered some "proper" vape gear which I will receive and post an update then but I am hoping to get a number of juices ordered tonight.

Any recommendations from you veterans such's as particular brands to go with or even stay away from?

I quite enjoy vapes such as Scope's Raspberry, Banana, Blueberry etc in the past but willing to try anything :D

Bump! Hoping to order some juices tonight but not wanting to throw money away on poor brands!

Would appreciate some brand recommendations and I can take it from there :p

Guys and gals....

What's the best 4 post rda at the moment?

I have the vt40 and 50w istick with the triton, sub tank and a cltv3 clone....not tried temp control using my own coils yet....only the kanger occ vaporshark ones.

Am I going to needed a better mod first to appreciate temp control or should I crack on with titanium. I might buy the updated rba section for my subtank as a first instance but wanted people's thoughts.

I will never buy from vapor shark again. My rdna40 packed in had it since Feb. They want 60 quid to send it back for repair. It only has a 4 month warranty. Shocking imo. Shows no faith in their own product.

It's subjective really, just check mix ratios before buying, usually the higher the PG content the worse the liquid will be (in my experience)60-PG is about my limit. From there I usually just hunt around and see who has a nice discount code going and stick an order in.

Rda, you'll want to be looking at a velocity clone.

Mod, I would say spend that little extra and get an ipv d2, supports titanium out of the box and works very well, circa £30 if you aren't in a rush for it.

@Jay, not sure on the best RDA as there are so many and not much between them all to be honest, I have 12 drippers, all different styles and few stand out, the Hobo and Zenith V2 where rather good and the Mutation V2, also loved the 454 Big Block but its got a totally different deck to any other RDA. Fasttech do them all and so cheap you can buy and try a few and find one that suits you.
I would say get the RBA for your sub tank up and running first, get used to coiling etc and if you like it then look at drippers.
As for your mod, I started dripping on a 30w dna mod. so your iStick 50w will do just fine, in fact I know a few people that drip using an Istick 50w.

@scorchisio, typicaly American, their warranties are normally only 6 months or less I gather...

Had it with the Subtank. Ordered a Uwell Crown as a 2nd tank. I can't believe how poor the Subtank is with high vg. Up to 70/30 seems fine but get to 80/20 and it chokes. Leave it overnight, 10 minutes of primer puffs and I get about three hits before it burns. And the 0.5 coils are no better than the 1.2.

Fancy sharing the pics? Would like to see where yours is failing and compare to my own for piece of mind :)

Forgot a sodding screwdriver again, just going to take the dual coil deck to work tomorrow and do the swap there.

Here you go. Notice the rough threads and the positive post that's bent.

This is as far as I can get the wick ring on:

I've built the tank up with the single coil deck and TBH I'm not impressed. I built the same way as I build pretty much everything with a 3mm 0.5 ohm 24AWG Kanthal and the wicking just can't keep up. Three pulls and it's burned even at 30W.
Tried a looser cotton in it and tried with and without the wick ring and with wicks touching the bottom and not touching the bottom. Same result.

Just got my first Vape - Kangertech Subox Mini

First few hits were very disappointing, read up about "priming" the coil and it seems better now - surprisingly harsh on the throat at first but I guess those were "dry hits" I'm using 0.5 coil at 20W btw.

Still need to get my head around all the terms - I bought quite a few different juices to try. If I want to change the juice, do I need to replace the coil completely or can I just drain it and refill?

If you didn't prime it then the cotton will be burnt and that smell will never go. Did you not apply eliquid to the coil and surrounding cotton first?

I did follow the user guide that came with it and applied some to the coil before using.

I referred to this after and took a couple of hits without pushing the button which improved taste a lot : http://guidetovaping.com/2014/03/21/how-to-break-in-a-new-coil/

I'm getting mixed up with terminology, my bad. Some of the more experienced vapers can correct me but if your atomizer has an adjustable air control ring then close it and then take a few pulls to get the wicks saturated without pressing the fire button. After open the air control ring and vape as normal. Your link doesn't mention that.

Cheers, certainly rougher then mine, the only iffy thread I have is the 510, but it's bearable. Mine appears to wick fine, though I've only been to around 20w on a 1.4ohm coil, I started to not put any cotton in the juice well, just have it resting above enough to prevent flooding. Your juice control ring wound fully down? I found screwing the inner ring all the way out, placing it over the deck then screwing the outer ring back over the easiest way to get maximum juice flow - though I still don't see the point in them.

As for your wick ring, both of mine we're pre fitted so something's amiss of you only got one and it came loose. I'd like to think they'll chuck you an entire new unit from the next batch, as not one part of yours sounds up to standard.

Yup, first time for me - aim is to stop cigarettes and switch to vaping instead.

As a newbie a lot of the terminology doesn't make much sense although I'm sure it won't take long :)

Any questions, just ask; fountain of knowledge in here. No matter how silly you think the questions might be I can guarantee someone (or me) has asked them before.

Terminology may take a while, but you are on a computer geek forum, so I am guessing it won't cause you any trouble ;)

Welcome to the club :)

Any of you fine fellows have any experience with the effects of vaping on your cardio? I smoked a pipe for a good 5 years and packed it in last year when I got into my running/fitness but I've been craving that nicotine pretty bad as of late, figured a cheap vape would be better than bumming nasty cancer sticks on a night out.
