Just wrapped quad strand twisted 26g Ti, 2.5mm id, 0.05ohm dual coil, temp control on the DNA 200 doesn't like it but it's blowing my **** off, 90w and I'm spluttering everywhere. I think I need to reconsider what I want from a coil

Edit: quick nip up of the leads and now 0.04ohm and tc working perfectly, this thing is a monster

Why did the DNA200 not like 0.05 but was fine with 0.04? I would have expected it to like the lower resistance less because it's so damn low.

Not a clue, when I fired the temp reading was just replaced with - -- as it does in power mode. Too much power needed though, got it at 90w and its barely breaking 430f with a target of 500f. One he'll of a vape though, will snap pics of it tonight, barely fit 4/3 wraps in the aromamizer

E: 115w required to breach 500f!

Finally got my Aromamizer built & wicked properly.

Was having issues with a horizontal build but I've swapped to dual vertical coils and it's working like a champ.

.33 @ ~50-60w - lovely flavour.

In your opinion how does a SS build taste compared to Ti?

I did find there was a massive difference going to Ti from Kanthal ie I found that Kanthal was bringing a metallic taste to the vape.

Dna200 confirms it's TC coil my measuring resistance changes. If you aren't hitting it with enough power for the resistance to change it thinks it needs to be in power mode

I prefer SS to Ti now. It's easier to work with and I don't get any issues with hot legs like you can with Ti if your build isn't spot on.
I also find the taste is cleaner.

All told I much prefer SS because I can take the same build and put it on any mod that will fire it. It will work in power or TC modes.

Hey guys, I want to buy some thicker gauge wire for my Smok TFV4, I only have 28 gauge A1 from vape mesh. Anyone know what gauge wire this pre-built RBA coil is on the TFV4 and is it kanthal, SS, or something else? Looks nice and solid and will be easy to wick without distorting the coil. I've put my 28 AWG against it if it helps.

Thanks yeah, I kinda thought so but wanted to make sure. If I buy 24 gauge kanthal, will that also work on the subtank mini, being a much smaller deck?

yeah i believe its 24awg kanthal in the RBA by default. but the tank is too airy for a single coil unless you go twisted and hit it with some more power, the Dual RBA deck is a far better vape.

24awg would probably be okay, I preferred the subtank mini with 26awg built to around
0.7ohms

Hmm, damn. Seems like I'll need a dual coil deck then. Do you know the cheapest place to get one? FT, clone or genuine? Will my Sigelei 50w be enough to power it? At the moment, using the triple coil which is 0.2 ohms, I'm on maximum 50w which is only showing 3.4v. Gives me plenty of vapour but probably not enough flavour. I figured that the single coil which is 0.7 ohms will give me much higher volts at similar wattage.

Wouldn't personally recommend vape mesh company, great prices but it took nearly a month to come, and was missing two of the spools I ordered! They kept blaming royal mail, but a quick google suggests this is pretty common, and I highly doubt it's royal mail sabotaging wire orders from this one company... Never did get my two spools.

Stealthvape on the other hand, used them for my last order, the free spool I got was 10m, not 5m, you get free cotton, and it arrived in 36 hours, can't say fairer than that!

I got mine from FT, Genuine, and 50w might not be enough power, depends how you build, i put in my usual dual twisted 26awg TI coils, came in around 0.1ohms and im hitting them with 80w pre heat then 70w normal @220c and not hitting temp limit lol... if you build with kanthal and aim for higher ohms then 50w should be enough.
