Costs more from my maths? cig-eliquid £36.98 for 250ml. Lesureliquids is £8.99 per 50ml which is £44.95 for the same amount. Can you buy bigger bottles at more of a discount for bulk that I can't find?

Bugger, I only saw 20ml bottles! Ah well lol.

Majnu, there are some good suggestions on the last page of this thread, have a look through those and ask away if you have any more questions.

The burnt taste is no good at all. That means that your e-cig has run dry, or that it isn't wicking the liquid through to the atomiser properly. I don't know what sort of thing you're using so I can't offer much help there I'm afraid.

im glad i found this thread. I have been spending almost £50 a week on electronic cigarettes, e lites. Nicolites, jensons. elite refills etc. I havent smoked any real cigs but im actually worse off money wise now because now i sit in the house smoking them where as i used to go outside.

I am looking for some good starter tips for tobacco and interesting flavoured liquids and i also need to know ( no more than say £50) which is the best kit to get for the actual vaping devices.

i know ill need 2 batteries so i can charge one while i smoke the other etc. Any advice and links if possible would be well appreciated, i have read back through the thread but i am truly overwhelmed by the choice and selection of these devices.

thank you

If you have a look at the second post on this page I wrote a pretty lengthy post with some of my standard recommendations. You should save a lot of money moving away from disposables!

My setup is simple which I buy regularly from vapour-room due to their good service and quick delivery (order tomorrow and it'll be with you 1st class recorded on Friday)....

My diet ....

Battery : Leo Pro

option 1
Vanilla VG with Boge LR cartos : Lots of vaper but taste deteriorates quickly as the Boge carto is used past a few days.

option 2
Light Feelife VG/PG liquids with Tidy 10v2 clearos : Very nice taste, less vaper but more than adequate

Disc code : ECR69 .... pity most of the stuff is out of stock though

0 stock = :(

I think the general consensus is that it's best to steer away from the cigarette look-a-likes due to poor battery life, rubbish atomisers and (for me) more confusion with people thinking you're smoking. They are, however, a cheap way to give it a go if you don't have a lot of cash to spend. I would recommend investing in more satisfying kit if you can afford it though.

A good starter kit is anything that comes with an ego battery (also branded as tornado on the totally wicked site). They also make a variable voltage version that allows you to get more vapour/hit out of your atomiser to suit your taste (the Ego Twist). Get two so you can charge one and use the other. Any 510/ego connection charger will be fine for those. and then it's just a matter of choosing your atomiser.

I like the smok dual coil mega cartomisers for ease of use and performance. They're basically a metal tube with some wick material inside with two heating coils. Drip your liquid in and once it's soaked in you puff away all day. You'd want to replace them every 2-4 weeks as the wick wears out, and they cost about £3 each. Some people like tanks, although I find they don't always wick very well and can leave you with a horrible burnt taste. It depends what you get.

Then pick up some liquid. Are you looking to get something tobacco flavour? Or try something totally different? House of Liquid make an awesome tobacco liquid in their El Toro range called El Cigarrillos. For fruity flavours I really like Totally Wicked E-liquid's Gold Standard range. Start on 11-18mg strength and get 10ml taster bottles until you find a flavour/strength that suits you.

If you just want a basic starter kit, then this will be fine (although the atomisers that come with it are pretty average and I'm not a fan. Cheap to replace with the DC cartos I linked above if you don't get on with them) http://vapourhut.com/Ecig-Kits/Intermediate-kits/VH-Star-Kit

For you guys asking about starting up with new kit, here are some suggestions I posted earlier.

Alternatively, this kit contains most of the above, but with different atomisers. You can always buy new atomiser heads to fit these batteries as they have a standard fitting, but those batteries are a good starting point to branch out from until you find an atomiser that suits your preferences (I prefer the smok dual coil cartos linked in the quoted bit above)

A bit behind the times, but just got my Lavatube yesterday. Really liking it so far... simple, not too flashy and just works great. Awesome.

A mate came to visit last week with his shiny new Tesla. Lovely bit of kit.

The Poldiac is a work of art! Jim has some great ideas and has never disappointed with his stuff, and he's a really nice bloke to boot! To be honest I rarely use my Provari since I moved to a DID setup as I just wrap a LR coil and use a mechanical mod. I use 18650s for all day use so quite happy with 3.6v and haven't found the need to bump up voltages.

On the juice front I'm now addicted to AiV's "White Rabbit", although I would say it is an acquired taste. Can get it from http://www.switch2-ecigs.com/ (along with their superb JV Smurph **** if you like fruity flavours).

i'm considering a PROVARI V2.5, would you say that a did setup is better?

They're a big step above the standard batteries alright. I got some great use out of mine. The build quality on mine (V2.1) was pretty rubbish and eventually the threads gave up the ghost, which is why I now carry the police baton that is my Vamo, which I love to bits.

If I'm honest, I wouldn't recommend spending that much on a device this early on, but the provari is a great device. As far as rebuildable atomisers go, I'd leave that for now, as they aren't very beginner friendly (not at all). Perhaps something like a Vivi Nova would work as a user-friendly tank atty to go on a provari or any other good variable voltage device. Like I said there are much cheaper options than spending £150 on a provari! Perhaps start out with a Lavatube or Vamo if you want to try bigger variable voltage mods without dumping huge amounts of cash into the problem. Either of those, or even the suggestions I made above, will be leaps and bounds ahead of supermarket disposables.

150 quid ?!!

Someone explain to me how what is esentially a battery is worth a hundred and fifty quid. That's just mad

Exactly my thoughts. They're very well built and last forever, they look good, the circuitry is very consistent etc, but that's still a tonne of money. Almost as bad as the GG stuff.

I got my Vamo and 2 good batteries for under £70, and I don't feel the need to spend twice as much on just the device.

Is there any site which has items in stock? Makes me believe these sites are run by students or something. :D

Liberty flights

Ecig Wizard

Safer Cigs

Are some of the ones that tend to have stock all the time. Vapour hut has some good stuff and prices but limited stock type. Cloud9vaping has a large stock and good service but the owner is ill right now so they aren't dong orders all the time.

If you want to save a tiny % you can buy off one of the 'cowboy' sellers. The ones I've linked are long established and well trusted. You can save a lot more buying from say health cabin right from China but takes ages to come, postage means you are better buying a lot and you might get hit up with import tax.

:D You're not far off but that's an insult to students .... there are a fair few dell boys out there(check out some youtube videos) - it's a big market that we've created here :o

Just spoke to a nice chap on Switch 2, but he wasn't a student. This Vaper stuff he said took off 2 years ago but recently with better batteries and atomizers he said many people have started to come of the cigs

Managed to get my hands on an almost new Ego eVIC. Previously I've only used the Titan tank system from Totally Wicked so this is my first VV device and a bit of a step up.

It came with a standard Ego-T atomiser which has been used so need to order some. It says its compatible with any Ego-T atomiser. I've never used a clearomiser before, but can I use one on the eVIC as long as its got a 510 fitting? I was looking at the Kanger T3, would they be OK to use on an eVIC?

been and bought a liberty flights vision-ego. Got a tobacco bottle free with it. Benson and hedges, grape and apple bottle of liquid. If its good ill buy another tomorrow so i can charge one and smoke the other etc. Also then i can use 2 different flavours and chop and change. ;)

anyone reccomend any really good liquids to try with this? im open to suggestions.

My suggestion is to try an RY4 of some sort, hangsen or dekang are the most popular choices, but i like vape escapes and cloud9vapings RY4 (these could be rebranded hangsen or dekang though) aswell, its a tobacco blend with sweet undertones, sometimes nutty , it all depends on what your taste buds pick up on to be honest and the batch you get, have a look at Vape Escapes grizwald section, most of them are lovely and taste and smell just like they are supposed to, bubblegum was my favourite of them with aniseed coming a close second.

Also if your a fan of custard and fancy vaping custard, then look no further, head over to http://www.grantsvanillacustard.com/ and grab a 10ml bottle 50/50 mix and your desired nic strength, let it steep (stand for the amount he states) and vape away to your hearts content, Im in love with GVC and is my daily vape infact its all i vape and buy it in 100ml bottles now. Superb guy, mixing it all and shipping orders out, can be slow, so dont expect next day delivery unless he has bottles made up in your choices, Usually its 2-3 days.
