Aha! Didn't realise I had to press it that quickly! Cheers!

edit: 4v on a mega dc carto is epic! Looks like my ego batts were a bit lower volts than I thought

Ah cheers. I've only tried it on 2 cartos and one of the clearos it came with, but it works fine and sees the resistance fine. Unless the resistance is below 1.3A (my cartos show 1.5 and 1.6A) they should be fine. Maybe ring Alex at vapour hut and ask him.

Just for reference, CE4 clearos are rubbish. Tried the ones that came with my LT, and the flavour is non-existant, unless you consider the plastic-y overtones to be flavour. Do not want. I have 1.6ml in there that are now useless, so I'll vape it anyway to just give it a fair trial.

Edit: after giving it some time to bed in and dropping voltage to 3.9v the flavour has come back, and the weird plastic flavour is gone. Nowhere near as good as the dc carto though, but it does look nicer with the chrome so I'll use it anyway :p

Gotta say, I'm nervous about vaping my LT in train stations now (enquired with cust info and they're fine with it btw) just because I'm worried someone will mistake it for some kind of terrorist device and shoot me in the head before I can explain lol. Backpack and a big metal tube with a button on it doesn't look good!

On another note: I got in touch with vapourhut about the problems I was having with my lavatube and Alex suggested a couple of things. It's now working brilliantly and I'm loving being able to run 4.5V through a standard carto, it gives a much more satisfying vape.

Anything worth sharing? I've found I had to drop my volts because it was TOO satisfying and anything more than a few puffs would send my head spinning, and the throat hit was insane. 4-4.2V on a mega DC seems to work about right for me. 3.9V on the clearo is alright (virtually no TH though), but they seem to wick very poorly.

I've found that it's relatively rare for that to happen, really. Maybe 1 in 10 places will have an aversion. I've had bouncers just ask to take a look at it to confirm it was alright, had beat police ask me what I was puffing on outside a restaurant, been stopped mid-puff by a couple of bar managers who then realised what it was and had a laugh.

Anywhere that I've been asked to stop, or leave, I just hand over one of the Vape Escape business cards, politely ask them to give it to the manager so he may reappraise his position then finish my drink and go somewhere else.

I find when asked by bartenders or pub managers etc., it helps to use phrasing such as "it's to keep me away from the cigarettes". That immediately reinforces both the notion that a) it's not smoke, and b) you have no intention of being forced to stand amongst smokers, nor should you.

I usually just ask the barman/station info point/etc and explain it to them. Then I have a backup if anyone acosts me. One bar maid said no, I asked her to check with her manager and she came back and apologised after realising they sold e cigs (cheapo ones) at the bar lol.

Tried any of the El-Toro from Houseofliquid? New Silverberry is available from September 1st, it is a lovely fruity flavour. I got to try it in my last order, as part of the inprivate testers that Georgio sends with each order, depending on what is in development.
Also if you like tobacco flavours the Cigarillos is renowned as one of the best out there. They also do a self steeping Grande range, though I purchased the Virginia Prime and I did not get along with it at all and sold it on, others are hailing it as the closest to a cigarette on this planet. :)
Me personally, I would recommend the Eden, Silverberry and Cigarillos from there.

L33 I would second the VIVI NOVA's.

I'll second the el toro juices. Love cigarillos, and eden is basically cigarillos with apple mixed in. Very satisfying.

Hi, just found this thread.

I've been using a Tornado - T for about a year now with mainly TW Red Tobacco liquid (36mg) and find it great most of the time.

When its not so good is if I'm out and about - it then has a tendency to flood and leak.

I generally buy about 6 months worth of gear at a time once a good sale is on and will have to re-order soon.

Just wondered if there is anything better that I should maybe try?

I went on to Smok Mega dual coil cartomisers (think I put a link in the OP), and they have been a revelation from the tornado tanks I used. The other guys on here are more up to date with the newer gear, but I've yet to find anything better so far myself.

This is turning out to be a lot more expensive than smoking! :p Just placed an order with Pixie Juice for a few of their flavours, thats about £100 spent so far...

If it gets me off the cigs though its well worth it :)

Once you settle down and find your preferred flavours it might be worth looking into mixing your own juice. It can seem daunting at first, but it's actually dead easy and saves a huge amount.

The guys in this thread suggested the Riva 1100 Deluxe kit from vapeescape.co.uk to me and so far I'm very very happy with it :) May I suggest some of the RY4 liquid which I am just about to place a big bottle order for as I find it quite lovely :)

PS any takers for my tank question?

Edit : Tank is the incorrect term I believe, its a clearomiser? It has a 1.6ml tank capacity?

The V2 that they advertise on the website says it can be laid flat or vertical but not sure it applies to this one?

I think you might have a CE4 clearomiser (google it to check), in which case you can do what you like with it. I got some with my lavatube and I'm having some terrible wicking issues with them (dry plastic-y taste after a few drags), so maybe for your next batch try something different. Cartomisers seem to be the best cheap/reliable/low maintenance atty in my experience. Although they don't show you how much juice is in them. I occasionally overfill mine and have them leak out the bottom lol. Easily sorted with some kitchen towel though!

As to whoever asked about washing atties: you can, in most cases, rinse them out with warm water and leave them to dry for a few days. I usually just vape them nearly dry with a grimace and then fill up with my new juice, but it's not a very good method and I don't recommend it! I'm just lazy.

I'm really enjoying TW's gold standard blueberry atm. It tastes like blueberry pie filling. Very accurate flavour though with none of the synthetic candy taste many fruit liquids have. Also, decadent vapours lotus flower is great. It's fragrant and lively in a sort of refreshing way. I can't really describe it, but it's good.

Quick question from someone who does vape/smoke:

How bad for your health is it compared to smoking?

What is your company / workplace's policy for vaping in the office?

I vape at my desk, my office is cool with it. I asked first and explained it of course.

Any recommendations for a new flavour concentrate? I think I'll have to pick up a 50ml of cigarillos when they're back in stock, but thinking I might try something different to add to me stable of DIY juices.

Maybe a good mint/menthol flavour? The ones I've tried up til now have been too cool and light (mint), or flat and bland (menthol), so something a bit more full bodied that isn't just a cold inhale would be nice.

I feel like a good coffee too. I've like the DV cafe braziliano in the past, and others have been cloying and horrible (I'm looking at you liberty flights!) so I'm always a bit wary of branching out.

Nothing sweet anyway, I find I can't vape really sweet juices on the long term or I feel ill. Something a bit savoury for an all-day vape. Maybe even a good tobacco (although it's hard to go back after el cigarillos!)

Im still smoking since I got my Tornado Ego-C on Friday :( Purely down to the juices being disgusting, ive ordered more and am hoping they are better. All the juices so far have flavours nothing like what they are supposed to represent, and all have a distinctive "ecig aftertaste" which I really hope is not apparent in all juices as I cant stand it.

Finding a good flavour that suits you is tough, and I agree on the descriptions being quite ambiguous/inaccurate. I've vaped my share of terrible flavours that made me feel ill they were so sweet. Can I suggest el Toro el cigarillos as a good tobacco flavour. very leafy but satisfying juice.

Can you describe the aftertaste you're experiencing? It might be an issue with the atty you're using that we can help you resolve.

As an afterthought: my new Nova should be with me in a day or 2 so I can see what all the fuss is about. I really want it to be good, but I'm worried my VG juices aren't going to wick very well and will require some wick fiddling to sort. Should look nice on my LT though :D

After a week, I've decided CE4s are still ****. No juice I've tried, VG or PG, wicks well and they always end up giving a burnt plastic taste even at 3.5V. bleh. Anyone want the new spare that came with my LT? It's going in the bin otherwise, but don't say I didn't warn you.

possibly, some liquids use a nicotine base that has a distinct flavour to it. Good mixing liquids should be flavourless, but VG does add a slight sweetness. Try El Toro, and if you don't like it I'll buy it off you. I'm waiting for the 50ml to come back in stock, but if you are one of the minority that don't like it, I'll either swap you some atties or just buy it. It's very "not e cig" and has a very natural taste to it. If you don't like tobacco flavours it probably isn't for you though.

No its an atty and tank system. Although I know nothing about it, ive just filled the tank and plugged it in, didnt think there was anything else that needed to be done?

There isn't really, although some juices like to steep for a while after opening (a few days), but with premixed liquids it isn't really an issue. With cartomisers you need to let the liquid soak all the way through the wick, but with tanks it's only really a matter of taking a few dry hits to get the liquid going before vaping. Some atties need a bit of breaking it to get through the primer that they come soaked with, but you should be through that by now.

oops! Best bet is to get one ordered next day delivery to wherever you're staying?

Sound advice. Your batts should last that long. I could post you a charged ego battery if you get totally stuck :P

Well, just got my new Vivi Nova, and guess what? It doesn't fit my LT threads. It fits my ego batteries fine, but it's loose and the threads don't connect with the ones on my LT. So, defective LT unit, cheap metal that wears away in 2 weeks, or defective Nova? I'd really like to use them together, and I really like the LT, so if that's just tough **** then I'll be ****ed. I'm hoping that it's just this one unit and I'll get it replaced. sad face :(

I'd say it's your Nova that's faulty.

I've just double checked with my Novas and they both fit on my LT and ego batteries without any looseness at all.

Although one of them needs to be slackened off ever so slightly on the LT otherwise the resistance only displays as 0.0A. Even like that though it's not loose at all.

It seems I'm not the only one with this issue after posting on UKV. Bit peeved that I'll have to mod it to make it fit. I'm debating either a) buying a 510-510 adaptor and plinth, or b) using a piece of a straw to make it fit. I don't like the idea of it being loose or rigged as it has o survive my pockets :/
