US: The Walking Dead Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Just finished watching the latest episode and **** me they've turned it up a few notches haven't they?

First call goes to Andrew Lincoln for superb acting when he finds out - who wouldn't go off the rails after something like that?

Secondly and a question I haven't seen anyone else ask - who lured the zombies, unchained the gate and laid down fresh meat right at the start? The same person watching from the bushes earlier on in the season perhaps?

The prisoner Andrew..... :p that tries to kill Rick when he goes to turn of the backup generator.

Remember in episode 2, Rick kills the gang leader (Tomas iirc) and Andrew runs into a yard full of walkers and Rick says "you better start running" and just closes the door on him and we all thought he died (even though there were sounds, which suggested he was being ripped apart), well he must have escaped and yup, pretty sure that was him watching Carol from the bushes :)

One thing, which someone mentioned on another forum is that the group should have just gone towards Rick, Daryl and Glenn rather than running towards the zombies and separating or better yet done what they did when they first took over the prison, go up to the watch towers and pick them of from there :p

T-dog was just a terribly written character, so it's good they just removed him, and Lorrie's death scene should have had more impact, but she was just so awful I just wanted them to get it over with.

T-dog's death was rubbish too - Carol had a gun, so why didn't he just smash the 2 zombies' faces in with it? Alternatively he could have just punched them both, or stabbed them in the eye with the gun barrel or just stuck his thumbs in their eyes. This is all ignoring his shoulder injury which didn't seem to bother him anyway as he was able to pin them to the wall with his arm which wouldn't have been possible with that shoulder muscle torn.

Also, why is it that Rick and Darryl carry knives, so they just stab zombies in the head/eye all the time, but T-dog didn't carry a knife? In a zombie apocalypse, surely you would carry a melee weapon with you at all times. They should have also had people doing patrols on the prison rooftops to check for breaches. Hell, they could have had other people sneaking into the prison and they wouldn't know it.

They also had the old, "silent zombies until spotted" thing where that herd made no noise until the gang looked at them. And there seemed to be loads of locked gates behind Rick, Glen and Darryl, surely they would just need to chain 1 in case they were overrun at the hole in the fence?

I very nearly got something in my eye during that final scene. Andrew Lincoln acted the **** out of it.

Hell yeah, thought Lincoln was excellent, I nearly got something in my eye as well so I went outside and whipped myself with a man sized tree branch.

I feel that it has come close to a logical conclusion. Too many of the originals died for the series to continue and remain interesting.

The characters die in the comics all the time. New characters will pop up and the group will change.

I don't read the comics but I'm sure my friend told me that only 1 or 2 originals actually remain in the comics now.

Excellent start to the Season.

Thought I was watching the 1st episode with my brother but it seemed to have jumped a bit. Realised we were watching episode 2. Then I asked, what on earth is going on as I last saw them at the farmhouse killing a load of Zombies in the barn. Where is Shane, hot blondie.... Eh?

I'd thought S2 ended on the finding of Sophia in the barn when it was just a mid-season break.......

Muppet!

So there is (probably) going to be more than 3 seasons?

Almost certainly.

Walking Dead has the biggest ratings of any show on US Cable TV, particularly in the advertising-friendly 18-30 demographic.

Also, it's the first show that AMC own 100% (Mad Men is Lionsgate, and Breaking Bad is Sony). To top it all off it sells well internationally. It's making AMC a killing.

Unless it takes a rapid ratings dive, expect it to be around for a good few years to come.

Oh well, I can always stop watching :p

If it follows the comics as vaguely as it seems to be. End of season 3 will be issue 50. So there's at least roughly another 3 seasons worth of material already written, with the comic going stronger than ever in terms of story.

What non sense is this i can't believe that lori is dead. Not only is she dead but her son had to shoot her and WTF!!! :(

I still can't believe it and it was a bit emotional at the end of the episode.

It's tame compared to the comic.

It's tame compared to the comic.

Indeed, without giving any comic spoilers away in here, I had to explain how the Govenor is quite tame!

If it follows the comics (which I don't think it will be able to if you know the comics) that mofo gets hardcore!

There is no way they will follow the comic as it's straight ****** up!

Not sure if it is saying something that a lot of the lead characters in a lot of US TV shows are British:

Walking Dead - Rick
Sons of Anarchy - Jax
True Blood - Bill
Homeland - Brody

There are probably others. Just an observation I have made.... Are British actors just "better" at playing these roles or are trained differently?
