***The Wine Thread***

Because I love you guys here are charts of wine variety sweetness for both red and white wines.
I was going to post that. I do like the way Madeline (Wine Folly) presents her wine knowledge and info. I have her book which is a handy wine companion :).

Drinking this: https://www.vivino.com/wineries/nativ/wines/eremo-san-quirico-aglianico-2012

At the moment, it's one I'd seriously recommend to anyone who likes a big wine. It's a treat. If you don't like it, I'll send you the money for it.
Aglianico isn't a grape I'm particularly familiar with. If I can't find that in the UK, I'll certainly look at getting something similar to try.

It is...

Just opened it early and having a bottle now, it's a bloody amazingly nice wine. So good. I'm going to order another 6 haha

I took delivery of a case yesterday. Unfortunately, the packaging broke in transit and only 10 bottles arrived intact. Uvinum are sorting out a partial refund for me. I opened a bottle today, and despite initially being below temperature it was very quaffable. Very quaffable indeed, in fact.

They have a "gold" version of this as well, which I happened to get an email about the day after drinking the above one. I should have 12 waiting for me in the post office.

What a pain! Glad you liked it, I hate recommending things as sometimes it's just not what the person likes. I like big reds and I cannot lie. :p

Picked up some wine last night. I snuck one box to the basement before the wife noticed, but 2 of them she did ha
I just used the whole "you don't like drinking **** wine!" which kinda shut her up a little.

Among the collection, was 6 Nativ Blu, and 12 Golds. I already have about 10 Red Nativs still in the basement. These are a must try if anyone hasn't. Not had the gold yet, but the ratings are even better than the Red, which is stunning.

Had the Gold one last night and it was superb. Smell is like chocolate and coco, thick and dark in appearance, but it's not as heavy as the Red Nativ. It's still a big wine with bold ripe fruits, yet it has a really nice balance to it. It's not too thick in the mouth and finishes drier than the others, but has a nice subtle finish.

It got a Randomshenans 4.5 stars.
