***The Wine Thread***

Where do people buy their wine from? I've been using Vivino recently, and keep getting e-mails from them and their deals don't look bad. Free shipping is always good! I've put the following in my basket, based on nothing but a bit of reading and thinking they seem good to try. But, if anyone has some suggestions then I'd be happy to listen!
I like chardonnay, and big reds...

I found a german place through vivino that I get mine from. I have a PO box in germany and so it's free delivery! Makes it so easy.

I'm not massively into my whites at the moment, unless it has bubbles in it, but big reds... I can definitely help there. Basically any of the links in the last 2 pages? They're all big, full bodied fruity reds, with a nice balanced finish.

I had a bolgeri tonight... it wasn't bad, it just didn't stack against the Nativ gold I had prior to it. It gets a 3.8 on vivino, but I had to give it a 3.5 (damn their rating being like that) as it just didn't stack up in character to others I had.

Check out some of those for reds though on my vivino.

Alright peeps, looking for some suggestions.

I'm a big fan of red wine and know a thing or two about it, but I'm recently getting into whites a lot more also. I'm working my way around the French AOC's atm (because why not right?) so I was wondering where to go next. I've had Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume recently, along with a rather nice Pinot Gris from Alsace. I think I fancy trying a Chardonnay next, is Chablis the way to go, or should I look out for another appelation?

Cheers!

So I went to the local wine store and grabbed a couple of bottles. I got a Muscadet and a Coteaux de Giennois. The Muscadet is a little on the sharp side for my liking, but the Giennois is rather lovely. It's a Sauvignon Blanc like the Sancerre, and Pouilly-Fume, but better imo. Still dry, but hugely fruity. Picked it up from Majestic Wine if anyone is interested!

So, my first time I've bought wine online. I don't know why it took me so long. Free, next-day, Parcelforce delivery. These are all from Vivino. I like their app, so thought I'd give their shop a go. Just picked six which I liked the look of really. Only one I've heard of before is the Chateau Musar as I've got the 2004 in my cupboard which I bought for my birthday for around £50 but never got round to drinking.

That musar you have there is their 'second' wine but this is by no means bad - it's great. No experience with the rest so will be interested to hear. I bought a mystery case from vivino once and was truly stunned with what I got.

My alias is Ahleckz, you may be able to find me... :/ I don't really know how that side of it works ha.

I'm on the cocktails tonight, got a long drive tomorrow so unfortunately better not open any of the new bottles...

I have Ahleckz on vivino now, how are you Skeptic, what's your name on there?

I had a tried and tested Sir Passo 2015 last night, good week day drop.

Had a nice Zollo Primi night before, which is stunning value. I'm now #1 in France for Primitivo ratings lol Saying that, I've moved up to 75th in the whole of France overall. Life goals.

Got my order through yesterday :) Had a bottle of the 62 primitivo which was really special, as described. The bottles are massive and heavy. The missus thought they were litres. Also tried the Papale primitivo which is slightly drier than the 62 but nevertheless delish. The missus said of the Papale, "You could drink a lot more of this than the jammy sweet 62". Bless her, I could drink loads of either :D
