Have gone for a 20 ;) don't want to be too flashy. In other news shes trying to get me to come to a drag club. Worried about that.....

Regular offering, although it's worth noting that they don't keep the full range in every store. Our local one doesn't have the top end stuff that's on the Aldi website. Prolly wouldn't sell much stuff over £10 to the scrotters in Morecambe...
 
I'll check it out. Although might just get a decent sized order online. There's quite a few i've not seen in the store.

Bugger, they used to do a really good Prossecco but looks like it wasn't a regular thing :(

Hi folks

Need to buy a bottle (or 2) for an older (70s) couple. Would get them a spirit on the basis it would last longer but don't know what they both like so would like to get some nice wine. Happy to spend ~£30 on a bottle of red if that is sufficient to get an obviously decent one, or similar on a red + white if that would work out better on a cost to benefit basis.. Again, not sure what their preference would be so something that is more likely to appeal than not would be good.
 
Another Purple Angel getting it tonight. Two left :eek: How are you supposed to leave delicious wine alone? Got a Laithwaites booklet through today and they have some OEM Aussie Shiraz from McLaren Vale at 16.5% abv. They don't mention fortification. It sounds thick.

Bought this yesterday; very good for the money - massively jammy on opening for the first glass or 2, but today (1/2 bottle left) it's more balanced - with the spice showing through allowing more easy drinking! Good recommendation Tuppy :)

My pleasure :) I'm impressed by Aldi's drinks range. For non-'special occasion' stuff why wouldn't you? Great value.

Purple Angel if you haven't had it, you will love it. Try and get the 2010 but it's hard to find now. 2012 good though as is the 2013.
