YESSSSS that 62 is bang on, and I'm a huuuuge Nativ fan. I think I need to order some Gold actually, and some Blu, I'm out of both, but have the red Nativ still. About 10 bottles left I think. Great selection there @Tuppy_Glossop!
I wish I could get south african stuff, I can't get any and even online I"m not well versed... I think I'll have to try more Aus/South African in 2019!

Shame for me as my old man is over for Christmas and just necks wine, so I bought a load of cheap french *****. I'm sure it'll be a 3.2 max vivino, and this makes me sad. Means I can't enjoy nice wine because he'll just bosh it back and I'll get none any way.
 
It's a great fav of mine. I got a great deal before at a place I have used, think it was like 15euro a bottle or something mad. I bought 12 but have obviously since drunk them all :D

Popped up to see the parents, seems they have given up alcohol, so they have given back the bottle I gave them from a while ago .. bottle of Margaux, and a couple of other bottles.. well they’ll go into the new cellar :)
 
Had an excellent malbec in a restaurant over Christmas but it cost £40 at restaurant prices. I thought I'd try to find if I could get it for less.

The only place I could find it wanted £28, but they have a special on where you get another malbec with it for £30. Turns out they normally try and get £20 for the other one. It's not as good, but it's very drinkable, so £30 for both is a bit of a steal

I got it reduced from £28.95 to £18.95, ftw :D I had a couple of glasses last night and left half to see what it's like after a night in the decanter. Last night's was chocolatey and herby with dark fruits. Very typically south Italian. You'll like it :cool:
 
Tonight's is much smoother and balanced. Give it loads of air and enjoy with cheese is my advice. In conjunction with some local Shorrocks Whisky Cheddar it creates a truffley savouriness. Fantastic.

*turns out it's a Lancashire not a Cheddar, sozzard :p

On a wine like side note. We went to look at a house the other day. A proper renovation job. Huge project. One of the things it had was a cellar. Apparently small and cramped (moron didn't have the key) but I already put on the budget a modern wine cellar, so by dammit I'm getting one.

We're house hunting at the moment, and a place with a cellar or basement that I can convert into a wine room is a big priority... although highly unlikely :D
 
Surely it'll be cheaper to buy an old, classic staircase. From Versailles Palace or such? :p Mmmm, Purple Angel. Rocketing in value every year, as if that matters, so drinkable. Enjoying a Fresquita right now, a delicious white from Cordoba with sherry tones but a breezy freshness.
