Probably take him half an hour to realize whose shooting him!
Is the combat really as frustrating as he's making it out though? I haven't got any interest in getting the game but it does look good...

The combat is....versatile, is all I can say. I personally think they overdid it somewhat, combat can get a little bit too finicky when taking on groups of enemies for my taste but it is very rewarding when you take down an entire group taking barely any damage yourself when you exploit all your options, my only complaint is that you really HAVE to exploit all your options all the time, if you don't it is far too easy to get caught and ripped to shreds.
There is also some discrepancy between what your attacks, sword at least, have on the enemy and what theirs have on you, stuff like elves infinitely blocking your attacks from any angle yet you only being to block 2-3 subsequent attacks and then being unable to use blocks OR magic, that kind of thing bugs me and strikes me as designers being rather cheap in terms of difficulty scaling but it's not a major game breaker.

ive just installed the game and upon launching it asks me to input my cd key and then says checking for updates. then everything closes down and if i re launch the game the same thing happens.
any fix for this?

Servers appear to be down while they do some changes for the incoming patch. Just going have to keep trying and be patient

Why does nobody seem to use Alt to lock on? :S
Stops you from changing targets, allows you to prioritise. All it takes is a press of the thumb, quickly, for example, take out the little nekkers, and then move on to the warriors.
Oh.
Lethro on hard is a goddamn machine xD
Kayran was easy enough though, did it on my 3rd try (1st and second I kept trying to stun the middle tentacles)

Didn't have a problem with the wraiths, one of the oils took care of them, necrophage I think. My problem was the fight you get stuck in with Letho, had to drop to easy for that which was a shame since it was far too easy then.
Excellent game all round though flawed and I think I prefer Witcher 1 slightly more.

Mouse aiming is awesome and you can pull off some great combos, allowing you to switch targets mid fight to deal with an enemy from behind. I often move into a top down view to see everything and use WASD to choose the most dangerous enemy at the time and then putting in a quick counter or aard sign.
Loving the fighting now I've got the hang of it

runs pretty dump so far with everything maxed. should i be expecting more or is this game just a card killer?
Must have been playing at pretty low fps...tolerance I guess.
You set it to use the dirt 2 crossfire profile? Heard that got xfire working for it atm. Also disable ubersampling to boost frames as well.
