The Witcher 2 - Thread

Hey Guys, i'm thinking of playing through The Witcher 2 again, are there any major differences if I choose to side with the Socital rather than with Vernon ?
 
Huge. The second act is completely different.

The new patch should be out this week, hopefully. There is a new piece of DLC in the second act as well.
 
So whats your avourite campaign..toche or Iovarth?

I chose Iovarth but I think I will play again with roche later.

Man thats a lot off aming hours to play teh game x2.

Anyway this game is sick real sick and addictive...liek playing lord of the rings totally epic..the world, gfx, fighting and storyline are superb. Ive been fed up with gaming for years. I mean I gamed but not been enjoying a game liek this since I was like a young teen playing final fantasy 7. I mean this game is captivating and engrossing. I am addicted. Its in my thoughts 24/7. Im not even on chapter 2 yet lol
 
I wodner if I should bump up dofficulty to normal. I started at normal but was getting wasted, then on easy gettign wasted, now I find it easy on easy that Im better and levelled up etc....But I get a feeling Normal will still be hard?
 
Normal is quite difficult until you get the AoE sword fighting abilities and then it gets a lot easier. I dread to think how hard it is to kill groups of enemies on hard without these.
 
Thinking about installing this today as I've got a few days off, are the patches large? i've only got 3GB left for the month.

How Do I access the config/set-up/advanced grapchics screen. Using Steam version and want to play about a bit more than the low/med/high/ultra.

Also slightly amused, new computer with a Nvidia 570 card and SB proc, and detect best settings gave me "low". Runs fine on high, but want to tweak some things.

Tick the little box that says 'Show advanced options' in the Options menu of the launcher.
 
Is there ahy way to increase the font size ingame? I've been quite enjoyign playing this from a few meters away with an xbox controller on a 30" monitor, but it's really hard to read anything from that range.

same i was playing 40" hdtv 12-15 ft away using 360 contoller and cant see anything. I had to pul my tv out my wall frame so closer but still hard to read txt. Maybe a mod out there but I dont htink you can chage it yourself?

Better with 360 pad though IMO

Howeer another thing I hate is when I press start it always takes what seems an age for the menu to load and when you press b rather than gp back t menu options it goes back to game and you have to press start again to access menu. Thats annoying
 
What are the best Nvdia drivers for this guys?

Im currently using 275.33 which ive noticed i get very slight texture flickering at times,nothing major though.
