The Witcher 2 - Thread

downloaded a 12gb patch last nite and now this morning i was about to play and it wants to do another 11gb update.
pretty annoying

ugh, 8 hours to download the EE and I can only use their downloader to get it.
Would rather have a torrent, at least I can pause it and come back to it then.

My connection dropped, gave me an error and it allowed me to retry and start where it left off. Maybe you can do something to make it give an error :)

That opening scene!!! :O awesome! After reading the "a song of ice and fire" series this game sprung to mind and just as the EE came out! I want a westeros mod for this so i can take up sword as a stark and give the lannisters what for.

Just started those books myself, loving them and very very easy to read.

The only disappointing thing for me that that Nvidia is still behind AMD for performance in The Witcher 2.

I've the game running at 2560x1440, FXAA + Sharpning, and everything maxed bar motion blur, blur, bloom and ubersampling. GTX 680

The blurs and bloom don't really take away much from my performance but they annoy me and look ugly.

I also changed the texture memory limit in the config files to 1000MB as 600 is just not enough, looks blurry.
The game runs around 38-67 FPS depending on scenes. Although it mostly stays around mid 40's-high 50's.

Although it seems the EE is bit more demanding, as I had little problem running the game on my GTX470 at 1920x1200.

Am i not computing something here? ive had the withcher 2 enhanced edition on steam for ages, so whats this a new version of it?

I think it's just you, it was only recently released really, it adds about 4 more hours of gameplay, plenty of cinematics, quests and fixes. it also finally adds some content explaining what happened to Shani in the first game.

There's also the Dark difficulty which is harder than hard apparently, not noticed it so far.
It also includes some new items on that setting.
