neil you need to find a certain mushroom which has the ingredient called Aether that will finish the potion
 
Not sure how many hrs been playing still at the village,trying to get the monk to coff up his secret,but he ain't having non of it :D,i suck at dice,managed to loose quite a bit on arm wrestling too,
Currently trying to complete 2 side quests,the stupid spectre's in the hospital a killing me a lot.....:mad:

I beat french monk at dice, and he gave me his reward, but sadly it is not working :(

There should be some GOG.com discount or something like that in extras in main manu after you beat him, but there is nothing there.

How to kill wraiths in hospital?

Use Axie on one of them. He will fight the other. Piece of cake.
 
Just found a extra mini boss in chapter 3, he offers you a full talent respec or you can engage him in combat..

Best steel sword type weapon I've found all in all - still need to do a gargoyle quest which rewards new swords supposedly.
 
It's going to take me weeks to complete this, I only get the chance to play about an hour or two each night and I hate missing anything out. Still in Flotsam at the minute doing all the side quests.

The main thing that bugs me is there being no bank. But then all the resources such as iron-ore, leather, cloth etc that take up weight are very easy to find. But I'm a hoarder by nature and hate the idea of having to sell things or not loot stuff even if I already have 50-60 of it :p

Edit: I'm still getting owned on Normal difficulty in battles with groups as well :p

Realy enjoying the game ;), but i have never died and reloaded so many times in the last 10 years i think :(. I will be honest and say i am not the sharpest knife in the draw but the combat difficulty on normal is random at best.

I got spanked by townsmen with a shovels and pitchforks, i got spanked by monsters, i got spanked by traps, everything in this game just loves killing me :p. Its been a long time since i sat infront of my PC shouting at the ******* monsters :rolleyes:

I will complete this game if it kills me, stuck on the boss in the fog now, he thinks its funny to kill me as well and i though the 8 harpies gang spanking me was bad enough :eek:. Back into the game i go :(

Many things... character development between Geralt and other people, story development and choices throughout the game, starting weapons and armor, starting formulas and designs, the ending of the game (etc).

just started, 5 minutes in and theres naked women :p

the graphics are amazing and the atmosphere etc is all good, but i have no idea what anyone is talking about lol, wiill it make a huge difference if i havent played the first?

Also i turned every setting up except ssao and ultra sampling, i have 2 6950s in crossfire, reckon it could handle more AA? Its making my fans go crazy its really gpu intensive.
 
ok cool, so far though its just hack and slash, i really need a manuel because some times i press q and they go on fire for a bit, 5 they freeze or something weird, i have no idea what im doing just hacking and slashing :p tutorial could be a bit better imo.

also i think theres a bug, im ment to go talk to the king thats being defended by loads of archers (after destroying the barricade), but i cant attack any of them, or climb the ladder to get to the king, its like the controls have stopped working :s

how do you change 'signs' or use things in your pockets like bombs and traps?

tutorial is rubbish but the game is beautiful and seems really good.

For pocket items, go into your inventory and go into the bombs, traps or/and throwing weapons area. Select them, and it'll add them to one of the pocket slots (you can add 5 or 6 different things). Then, when playing, bring up the wheel thing... not sure of the button for this as I use an Xbox 360 controller (which is left trigger) and you can change signs and change the pocket item. You can only have one "active" sign and pocket item. To use the item in your pocket it's another key which I don't known on a keyboard, but on a 360 controller it's the right-back bumper button. You can either hold this button for a specific throw of the bomb/item giving you a targetting reticle and you can aim around, or you can tap it and it'll quick-throw the item.

You put bombs and traps etc. in your pocket slots at the Inventory screen.

You can then use them, and change Signs etc. by holding the CTRL key to bring up the selection wheel, which also includes the Meditation option.

For some reason my gfx card has been acting a bit funny when playing this, occasionally it'll black screen for about 2 seconds and reappear again just fine but my audio is gone.

Now this just happened, it decides to max out the GPU usage and my fps drops from about 40-60's to 15fps.

Now I'm just wondering if its the game or the 275 drivers that someone on this thread recommended to get. :/
