How do you tell what version is running? I'm not sure if i have the downloadable content or if i have the 2.0 patch. The in game start menu doesnt have the new game mode. This isnt the steam version.
Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Witcher 2\bin" and right-click the witcher2.exe. The "File Version" of the .exe under the "Details" tab will tell you what patch you're running. I applied the v1.3 patch (latest) yesterday and mine says "1.3.6720.47945".
Finally completed this (started in June)
Visuals are stunning, story and characters were very good. Played through Iorveth`s path, loved the awesome designs of the characters, animations and voice acting.
Best part of the game was the moral ambiguity of the characters and the choices you make. No one of the main characters is clearly good or bad. For example, Iorveth being a terrorist who killed innocent people, but then later getting to know his story and the suffering of his people makes you re-evaluate your relationship with him and whose side you should be on.)
On the negative side, the gameplay was disappointing, the fights were boring and way too consoley, nothing more but mindless button smashing. Mini-games were simplistic as well and got old fast.
It was a good game, but not as great as some people make it out to be.
Finally started playing this after completing the 1st game.
Absolutely loving it, but I have a few questions.
Are there any innkeepers, somewhere to store your gear? I'm absolutely loaded down with crafting material and I'm scared to throw them away.
How do you use mutagens, I'm only on act 1, but I have around 10 of them with no idea what to do![]()
