The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I was at the Eurogamer dev session for the game a few hours ago. They did a playthrough the main city in the game as well as doing a major quest. The game looks utterly incredible. From an engine point of view, the draw distance, the lighting model and the cutscenes are jaw dropping. This game will be one of the hottest contested game of the year entries for 2015 I'm sure.

CD Projekt never fail to deliver and ive no doubt Witcher3 will be just as epic. One of the best PC developers going.

I always used to find the alchemy / signs a bit clunky and they always seemed to have a very low carry limit for items.

Hopefully they have addressed some of those things but game is amust buy for me for sure

Can you roam freely in this, going off paths?... I hate the fact there are invisible walls everywhere that constrain you in Witcher2. It totally killed the immersion for me.

What the hell's with the pricing of this game on Steam? I know there's other sites to get it from cheaper (as well as the pre-purchase price on Steam), but 49.99 is ridiculous.

I assume they are trying to push more sales on GOG as they take a smaller cut than steam. Thats why they are offering discounts there.

Even there it's only a pound cheaper than Steam's pre-purchase price, and that's only if you own both the previous games through GOG. Maybe I'm just spoilt by sales, but at £36.50 even with a supposed 27% off is far too expensive for my tastes.

you can by all three for £53 on steam anyway, so it doesn't exactly represent much of a saving for us who already own the first two. in fact chances are the first two plus this would have cost most of us more than somebody buying all 3 right now (unless you bought both in the sales for less than £8.25 each), so they're not really doing us much of a favour!

But anyway saving or not, the price is a bit of a stinker.

Is the Combat Rebalance mod worth installing for a first playthough? I've heard it has issues but most of those posts were from when the original version was released and it looks like it's had a couple of updates since then.

Thanks.
