You don't have that PSU on eco at all do you m8? We have pretty much the exact same setup now after the advice you gave me on the 980 and the superflower and I get no stuttering at all, which is pretty damn weird tbh.

Hmmm I'll have to look into this!

Thing is Witcher I've done more than a reinstall tonight, lets just say full format!

Will chat on Steam

I am loving this so far, just got to level 2! I know, I'm slow but savouring it.

There is a whole lot of reading to do though but it builds a world I suppose.

I am also getting stutter Neil despite having 50+ FPS most of the time, frame latency is usually about 15-20ms which is very smooth for me but for some reason it can jump to 35 and even as high as 100 at times.

I only get it when riding the horse, which is even more odd... It reminds me of the frame skipping people got in Oblivion

Let me know if that eco PSU thing helps neil.

I don't know how it can though since it only affects the fan, at least on the evga supernova g2 anyway (superflower PSU)

Is this still the SweetFX instructions to use?

Yeah that's right... The link has changed though so use this new link to download it.

download the sweet FX from here:

https://mega.co.nz/#!kJ0llLCK!yyw3ueOU0zt4U0Wfwce1V7NrUaflEBGk8ahKNR71CqM

Follow the readme file for the instructions. Its pretty easy.

Go into the SweetFX_settings file and change the Lumasharpen to 0 instead of 1.
Turn off the sharpening feature in the game too as this just adds false sharpening and makes it look awful.

Turn off Chromatic Abberation in the options menu too in game.

I'm really liking this game.
Its not my usual fare but I'm really getting into it.

Seems to be running fine on ultra @ 1440 with my titan-x. No idea on the fps etc but it's smooth and looks great

Me, and I'm finding it pretty easy...

...I maybe fibbing :p

At times it's super easy then suddenly a single wild dog rips your throat out. Great fun, and means you have to prep for fights and use everything at your disposal.

It can also be super frustrating. especially during cutscene based escort quest. It took ages, about 3 hours to do because if I die I had to skip all the dialogue, make choices again and try it all over. Couldn't save while the mission was going on. :(

Also just took on a monster in a cave that two shots you if not careful. A real tough contract, took about 8 tries. So satisfying to get it done though.

I finished the Witcher 2 on hard before they nerfed that, and then again on Dark for all the unique weapons and armour as well. I hope Death march has something nice like that.

Just finished the griffin quest in beginingish part, is is best to stay in this area and explore visit the question marks or shall I continue with main quest following yennifer?

These crashes are becoming annoying now, had 3 so far, whilst not loosing progress as saves quite a lot having to reboot.

Best to finish them all before moving on.

I'm lucky, no crashes so far, has been a rock solid experience for me.

I have been using DSR with SLI for around a year, first with my 780 Ti's and now 980's.

Didn't do anything special, in the Nvidia control panel SLI is on and under 3D settings I can set the DSR settings as I want. Haven't done a clean install on my GPU drivers for well over a year. Every driver that's come out (beta and WHQL) has been installed over the top without any issues at all.

Thanks mate but it seems mobile GPUs cannot use DSR :( All that power under my hood and a big fu from NV

Patch has been great. Pretty much played the whole day today and not one crash. Absolutely loving it. Easily one of the greatest gaming experiences in my life. I'm 14 hours in and on lv7. I keep getting sidetracked from my sidetracking. Had a omg moment today when I had a proper look at the full extend of the map. I can play for 3 months and probably not see every inch of it. Can't wait to play the whole weekend!

Theres another Sweet fx preset people might want to try

http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/3710/

Its a VGX Trailer/E3 preset that gets the game looking as close to that as possible.

I haven't tried it yet myself but wanted to post it here.

EDIT: Just tried it and don't like it at all everything is too red lol.

Ill stick to my Original one.

Your one is awesome. Been using it for about 10-11 hours and still marvel at the graphics.

Is it wrong of me to do this for fun? (excuse quality, never used ShadowPlay before and never mess with game video clips, although it should be 1080p in the settings)

Haha, nope, first thing I did when I got to the 3 guys hanging at the ransacked village was ride into them as fast as I could to try and knock them right over the bar :p

Haha did you do it? That sounds like a challenge, have to love shadowplay such a great idea to always record last ten minutes of footage with what seems to be a 0 fps hit. Something funny always happens in singleplayer due to bugs or whatnot.

Im enjoying this. Finding combat ok and more in depth than i initially thought and some of the finishing moves are very cool.

As for performance its running a solid 40-45fps with most things high/ultra, water and foliage medium and obviously hairworks off.
