The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

So, I was playing this the other day, and as I said, still early on. Actually had a giggle, was at the part where you need to get a pass to go past some guards (trying not to give anything away but also don't know what I'm on about).

Anyway, spoke to a local who asked me to help clear off some dirty beasty things (honestly, I don't know anything about this game) so they could farm. I was like "sup, yea, cool, I'll sort that". Took the quest, kept wondering around, just having a good ol' chin wag with some muppet who tried to cheat me out of a bunch of credits for said pass... Suddenly I got a prompt for failing the quest.

Unfortunately it is quite easy to fail quests and get red x's in your journal.

The quest you are talking about if I remember is the one where the shady character you talk to asks you to help his friend, so you talk to him and he asks you to keep the monsters (ghouls) away while a few others clean up the battlefield. Unfortunately you enter this part of the game too soon and you are always pretty much under strength/under levelled to actually be able to handle them and I bet the person you spoke to who asked to keep the ghouls away probably died, or someone else did. That's why when you go back to the shady bloke selling the pass he tells you to do one and it fails.

I restarted the game a few times and this was one of the reasons, I just hate seeing fails and red x's in the journal! In fact I have not played for about a week because the current position I am now in the game, any kind of progression is causing a few quests to fail, it's really annoying and putting me off playing the game.

The part where you go to the party with Triss and you have to fight the 3 guys in the maze has officially entered my most hated sequences in gaming list. It has everything.

It needlessly restricts you, not allowing you to take potions during, or eat food.
It highlights the poor camera, as you are in a slightly confined space, so going anywhere near the walls means you won't be able to see much.
Fighting 3 guys at once highlights how unresponsive the fist-fighting is(well, the combat in general, but especially the fist-fighting).

It is mind-numbigly tedious.

I like the normal combat, but fist fighting is terrible! It's sad that a seasoned Witcher can lose to a beggar in 3 hits as well.

I've got a MMO7 RAT mouse and find the programming software excellent. I can set my signs up for instant casting which really helps a lot when a battle gets heated! Great for reapplying Quen.

The dodge on thumb button is a good shout, thanks!

Took me a while to beat that part too, but then I realised that you can use signs in that fight which made things a hell of a lot easier.

Patch 1.06 is annoying me. I get a few crashes, but worse is it knocked about 10FPS off my average.

They claim 1.07 is going to be a big patch. I hope it sorts out lots of issues.
I know on the PS4 the fps dips and stays below 20 now for a friend of mine since the last update as well.

I hope it does something with the way quest progression is done in terms of levelling and when you actually get them. Playing a second time really shows what a mess it can get. I am level 19, all my main quests are around 12-13(so the combat is too easy, and the rewards are not worth it), and I am nowhere near going to Skellige yet!

I think a lot of the side quests should be moved to, or put off until act 2. I am trying to leave some quests for Act 2, but it is like the game is pushing me to do them straight away in some cases. For a start, all of the companion quests(that you have to do to get allies for Kaer Morhen) would really make much more sense if they were left for Act 2...As it is, for most people after rescuing Ciri, Act 2 only really consists of fast travelling around the map, finding a certain NPC and asking them to help. They say yes/no, then you fast travel to Kaer Morhen for the battle.

I'm in the same boat with my second playthrough as well. They need more mid and high level quests and especially scaling them by level as you progress to some extent.
What's really annoying me is the newly added Wolf School Witcher gear, you start it at Kaer Morhen, despite being level 14 gear. So if you want the gear, and want to level with it and progress you're forced to rush to the start of the second act.

After 90 hours I'm finally at the last quest, everything else is done apart from I'm missing a few gwent cards from somewhere.

Quite sad that i'll have it finished tomorrow :(

I must be taking it very slowly compared to others, 103 hours in and I still haven't found Ciri yet! Although I think I might be getting close now, but there's so much stuff to explore in Skellige.

I'm at level 13-15 and still haven't left the first main area :D In my choice I've decided to go with Triss by choosing " I Love You ", although I did select stay with me and she was like I wish I could bye , thankfully a reload fixed that :D

Yen is going to get dumped, she keeps ordering me around, hate bossy women
