The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Not sure how well optimised Hairworks is now, if you're running Nvidia you should be ok full. I have a graphics mod that makes the old ultra, high. So Ultra on mine at 4K is kinda stressfull lol. There's a few ENB presets which should look good but you'll have to look yourself to suit your taste.

I'm a fan of the more washed out style personally.

quests/missions all feel like some thought went into them, even a lot of the really minor ones. shows up dragon age a bit a bit in that department.

though i still think dragon age looked better. just thinks the foliage in this game looks plain wrong.

but damn, it can be tough. sometimes a bit furstrating having no regular checkpoints on certain longer sections in some missions -like the darn botchling...

Yeah, so many games the secondary quests just feel chucked in to flesh out the game with little thought, but not with this.

And you're right that it can be frustrating, though if it makes you feel any better I haven't come across anything as annoying as that botchling quest since!

I agree. Some of the side quests which you think are small turn in to two hour gaming epics!

decided to start again, going for entirely different build than the normal button mash. Opting for pure magic on this one, not sure how it's going to work, but bored wit hack and slash.

The problem is, Geralts primary weapons are his swords, so your gonna have to invest a little in it.

Geralt the magician. Switch his swords out for magic wands!! :p

lol. I hear ya, but not going to stick anything into the Red Tree, every going on Blue. Going to try and get Sign intensity up above 200% and focus on crowd control and strong igni. Could be interesting.

Not sure how far through the game you are but you can get a potion to reset your ability points, if you'd rather save yourself from completely restarting.

The drunk scene with The Witcher actually made me chuckle, that's rare in games :D

the scene where Geralt has to round up all the pigs in the village & then lead them all to the cavern to turn them back into humans made me smile

Just finished, and went will all blue more or less until right at the end. ended up with sign intensity at around 270%. It's fun. I've always liked 'mage' type builds more than pure sword. I know people raved about igni but I found it a bit hit and miss. Sometimes absolutely destroys monsters, but also quite often barely dents them. Max out quen though. Invaluable.

Going to try a new game+ with more stuff in the red tree, but still probably max out quen. Wouldn't have survived without it!

Oh and the flamethrower type igni? Found it completely useless personally. This all is on the second hardest difficulty.

Edit: Wait, actually, ignore me. I think I might not have the bad ending after all :p

HAH. Had the exact same thing. Thought I got the bad ending, got very disappointed (and not gonna lie, slightly upset :p) since I thought I did good stuff...then found out it wasn't the 'bad' ending...so much happier!

270% sign Intensity :eek: holy, how you get it that high? I was thinking I surely could get around 200%, but 270% wow.

Mastercrafted Griffin Armour helped I think...(though haven't tried any of the other Witcher gear), each piece was giving an extra 10-20% of sign intensity + sign related glyphs in all the armour slots.

Greater blue mutagens also add in up to 40% intensity if everything in the three slots is blue.

This game does look amazing, probably one of the best looking games I've played.
I've literally got an hours gameplay with it though as my PC kept crashing however recently got a new GFX card so going to try and pick it up again after playing MGS!

I came across a locked chest inside the dungeon where...

Geralt and Philippa retrieve the Sunstone,
...but I couldn't find a key anywhere nearby. Are there locked chests for which the related key is found in a completely separate location?. Maybe I missed something obvious or perhaps it's part of another (treasure hunt) quest.

Awful flickering on this in crossfire :( doesn't run as well as I'd hoped either. Going to try everything on medium later and see how it is... Any tips for getting it running smoothly?

Edit... Those screenshots are super superb! Mine looks nothing like that :)

Every quest you do seems to trigger another, I avoided going to the Isle of mists to start the final sequences, well I did go but when it said a number of other quests will fail I declined & decided to clear up some of the side quests but even more keep popping up

Even after latest patch there are at least two quests that still won't work properly so I had to abandon them
