The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I've just purchased a GOG key for the main game as I couldn't bring myself to spend €60 on steam.

I now have to look forward to a 34gb download on a 2mb connection... hope it contains all patches and free dlc too.

I don't think it will.

The base game is patched up to 1.06.

The 1.10 patch is a separate 10Gb download.

Quiet annoying, having to re download all the free DLC again (500MB or so) after this patch installed to play any old saves. Would have assume the patch would have not affected all that free DLC content.

How do you know it did affect it?

I downloaded it anyway but it probably was only a container for all the previous 16 DLC's.

Unfortunately I still have a couple of broken quests after the patch.

Possibly 3 uncompletable quests. :o

Went back to play the game and it said cannot load save, missing xyz, with xyz being a list all those 16 free download items like outfits, new game + etc. Had to download all 16 of those again, but worked fine after.

Damn!

Mutts liver is now an alchemy ingredient!

There goes of my main sources of nutrition! :p

Wow, the situation seems pretty bad, I think I'll wait a week to see if things have improved before I grab the dlc.

Download speeds seem fine again this morning, guess it was just getting hammered last night, seems to happen most patches. Probably be the same when the DLC launches but I would guess it will be fine the following day.

Still pretty new, any particular talent trees I should focus on?

I put a couple into the general ones, like +vita and +regen, the rest have so far gone into the quick attack sword as it seems to be the one I use the most at the moment (think it's on 4/5 just on the first tier).

I did almost full sword, with a few points in signs and on death march it was extremely easy.

There is also a full alchemy build that is basically over powered because you do crazy aoe damage with bombs, heal yourself every pot you use, can use loads of potions at the same time etc.

Honestly it doesn't really matter. Just have fun and put points into whatever sounds fun to you. I personally enjoyed the sword combat with a few signs thrown in.

Just loaded this up after the patch had downloaded and I'm seeing a massive performance drop, anyone else having issues?

GAAAAAAHHH - my ****ing sweetfx doesn't work now after this patch! I spent ages perfecting my own settings which made the game so much better.

Anyone else found this and know a fix? Going to retry adding latest reshade files...

Yeah I'd agree with the 'just have fun and put points into whatever' comment. Don't worry about screwing up as there is a potion you can get to reset your points if you really need to later, I think it costs 1000 coins but that's nothing later in the game. Also I had loads more points than I'd got around to using later in the game.

Mainly swords, signs and a few general ones for me. I use medium armour so took the one that gives you the bonuses for that.

In graphics options along the top, instead of saying low/medium/high it now has a bunch of small squares, anyone else getting this?

Quoting myself, but I'm good :) ....

Fixed it!

In case anyone else needs help, I removed the d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll that the patch introduced and then put in the latest reshade files, and renamed the ReShade64.dll file to dxgi.dll. Then used my old saved sweetfx settings file.

Everything is back to how it was, and my tweaks for super smooth SLI with gsync performance still work, thank god.

The best and most instantly noticable fix from the patch for me is that when riding your horse at normal walking speed there is no stutter/ animation judder now! Thank **** for that. I NEVER used my horse because of this awful bug, time to get acquainted with Roach now. No idea why it took them so long to fix that.
