The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Presumably it it not necessary for 'Hearts of Stone' expansion pack to be installed first, before playing this latest one?

If not, is there any advantage in doing so?... other than being able to enjoy additional 'game time'of course! :)

It is not necessary, but Hearts of Stone is unmissable, one of the best stories you can experience in a game.

OK, so my problem now though, is where can I buy this from, as I already have the main game on DVD, which with the help of my new 'superfast' broadband, can now be 'updated' much quicker than before!

EDIT: A quick bit of Googling has shown me that I can buy and download an on-line game code from Amazon for just under £7.

I don't think I have a GOG (whatever that is!) account yet but as I will be playing it on a GeForce card I assume that I can easily get one?

GOG is a store operated by CD Projekt, company that is making Witcher games. It is also pretty much the best game shop that exists (DRM-free games, bonuses, good prices etc). If you buy the expansions there they are compatible with your retail version (because the retail version comes with GOG code).

Gah the PC hearts of stone retail is showing as in stock in the basket, but out of stock on the store on Game?

I have just found a retail copy of this on the rain forest site, which also comes with the Gwent cards.

Probably a bit expensive, but there don't seem to be many of these around at the moment!

Thanks, I had a look but couldnt see it on there.

EDIT: Hmm the option to add to cart is now greyed out so it must have been out of stock all along :(. Wish I had just bought the PS4 version now when it was on offer for £15.

I might just forget about the Gwent cards and buy the season pass from steam. They would probably just sit on my shelf untouched forever anyway.

God I really want to get back into this game. I want to have a 3 hours sessions not a 30 min before I go to work. i hardly touched the game but I absolutely love this game

I know what you mean about 30 mins not being enough, I can easily sink 3-4 hours into this at a time without even realising. Cant wait to explore some new settings with the new dlc.

I think I must just have been lucky, as it is now showing as "Currently Unavailable" again, and it was only at 14:20 today that they confirmed my order.

Presumably the cards that will come with that one will be different to those boxed with the latest 'Blood & Wine' expansion pack, which I have now ordered from Game?

EDIT: Sorry... I have just realised that my question was answered earlier, telling me that "You got the Monsters and Scoia'tael set with the retail copy of Heart of Stone for £15 and you get the Nilfgardian and Northern Kingdom decks with the retail copy of Blood & Wine which is also £15."

Unfortunately I had to pay a bit more than for my Heart of Stone ones, and now wish I had picked one up when it was first offered by Game!

Looks like CDPR are letting people buy all four Gwent decks separately, you just need to provide a screenshot of proof you got the season pass or one of the expansions.

Good idea! Any idea how much they seel you the sets for? Really tempted to just buy HoS and use the premade character as i think restarting the game is a bit lengthy for the time i get to play lately and picking up my old save may be confusing

Not sure what they are this time around, last time for the Hearts of Stone deck it was not much cheaper than just buying the retail copy for £15 from Game as you had to pay for international postage too. Might be different this time, would prob be an ok deal if you were gonna buy both decks.

Ive preordered the retail Blood and Wine from Game. Now just to decide the best way of getting Hearts of stone.

I'd much prefer the monster deck to the ones you get with BaW :(.
