The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

That's me finished the main stories... Just blown away by all three. Fav is Blood and wine, such a roller coaster. :D

Still have a few contracts and loads to discover, however meandered through them in 100 hours... 21p an hour, brilliant value....

I've just started my adventure - just finished the devil by the well mission. Really enjoying it so far but have to admit to feeling a bit frustrated and overwhelmed with the menu system and in particular the alchemy. Hopefully I'll get used to it but I do remember never really getting to grips with that aspect of the game when I played The Witcher 2 - although I never did finish it after getting lost in one of the towns shortly after making it with the elf :D. Historically I never really played RPG games although I managed ok with Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim - any words of encouragement?

You don't need to do alchemy to play the game. The fights will be harder though, maybe for the hardest bosses do so (bruma etc)

Use mutagens as that adds HP, extra magic damage etc.

I've been slowly building up a Combat/Signs build on deathmarch.

Still low level exploring Velen, but so far haven't run into anything unbeatable - just have to make good use of Quen shield to replenish health, and dodge/roll to avoid attacks.

I'm aiming for a build centred around adrenaline using Razor Focus, Adrenaline Burst and Rage Management for sign casting, and using Whirl to help generate adrenaline.

Levelling is slow though...

I'm up to level 19 now :) This game just keeps on getting better.

I can actually see myself buying the add on packs.

Definitely get them. They are honestly better than the Main story. There is no rush to buy them though, as they are both better done after the main quest ends.

What Pighardia says.

I did main quest, then Heart of Stone, Blood and wine.

Knowing what I know now, I would do it that way again.

Said it before, Witcher 3 might be the best game I have ever played. The story is totally immersive, the characters you bond with and want the best for them, the graphics are just right... Random Easter eggs, Life of Brian one was the funniest for me.

Felt quite deflated when I completed it...

That's the way I did it but with my ending the world feels odd now I'm starting the DLC:

My ending saw me settle down quietly with Yen. I then started the DLC and I'm back witchering and Yen is nowhere to be found. It feels a little empty. The few NPCs that I've managed to find don't have any dialogue of note.

I'm currently trying to bang some doctor lass in Heart of Stone which again doesn't sit right. Still got to do it though!

You do not have to sleep with Shani. And settling down with Yen is something that will still happen, don't worry. The epilogue of the main game was talking about a bit further in the future.

A lot of the game feels weird once you have done 'the thing' you need to with a certain NPC/area. It is one of my biggest complaints with it because it seems like it is done on purpose and I don't get why. For example, once you have beaten a named NPC at Gwent they suddenly don't want to play any more(shame because they are the best players). Once you have won a Fist fight, suddenly everyone disappears and loses interest in it. Many times when a quest is done the NPC is just dropped or won't speak again(priscilla, dandelion etc). It makes the world feel really flat and less alive. And it is a strange decision to do it this way imo, especially when you consider the amazing amount of detail they put in to other areas. It is an area CDPR need to improve in terms of open world games. Take Bethesda games for example where npcs have routines and activities they follow whether you interact with them or not. I hope they work on that side of their games if they continue with open worlds.

Well its over for me. I haven't played for the past 7 months but finally finished W3 tonight with 155hrs played. As usual it was an incredible game but half way through I got myself focused (sort of!) on every quest bar the main one and ended up playing other games for a good while instead.

I got the
Siri sacrifice
ending though. I hadn't realised there were multiple ones!

I don't think any is planned. Think they've moved on to Cyberpunk as the next release.

Indeed, I think they have stated a few times that it will be quite a while before they even consider another game or content based in the Witcher universe. Which is a shame but understandable considering how long the company has worked on the three games.

At least when they do it wont feel like a kick in the teeth not to return as Geralt, unlike say Shepard (Mass Effect) the game resolved his Story excellently.

EDIT: Nevermind I solved it - it seems you can't exit until finishing combat so I
killed all the rats and then the door worked
:)

Ok I've run into a really annoying bug while doing Towerful of Mice

After refusing to help Annabelle and her transforming into Pesta, hitting her causing her to run down the tower - the two doors out of that room are both locked/bugged so I can't exit the tower...

Tried reloading and no success.

Seems my two options are to enable console commands and noclip through the door or use a mod that toggles combat mode because there is a gap possible to jump through so you don't have to open the door - but the damn rats trap you in combat so you can't normally jump.
Either way it's an irritating bug trapping me in this part of the quest, and I have to use a mod to break out of it - unless there is another solution?

Has anyone run into this bug before? Apparrently the door should just open so I can run through but it doesn't... :(
