The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

i've done it three times? but yeh, same and i think of the parts of the game i truly hate. like the von eric fight....

id be willing to lose my memory to replay this for the first time

God that went on for ages! I used nearly all the food I'd collected in the game.

I couldn't resist and got this game, I have tried a couple of reshades with various mods etc, the first one is re engaged reshade which I do like a lot, it does hit frames a tad though

this is the one I'm keeping though :) its called the filmic reshade, its less colourful than re engaged but I like the look of it plus it hardly hits frames compared to re engaged

I'm using turbo lighting mod with both reshades ,uploads are a tad qlitchy but for some reason they usualy are since using windows 10

I've never understood why people buy recent games and proceed to mod them immediately, as if the developer's choice of aesthetics are grossly inadequate.

agree, second play through sure. plus normally these people complain that the game is bugged but actually is the mod making areas too dark to see :D

both of these reshades look way better than the original graphics lol I have owned this game before but on console(didn't finish it,only played around 10hrs) and did have a jolly roger pc version for a while, and yes I do find the game at standard not as aesthetically pleasing to me as adding a reshade :)

I don't play through games twice so I want it how I want it from the beginning, one of the best things about gaming on pc is being able to mod games etc, imo if you don't use the pc to its full advantage while gaming you may as well play it on console as apart from having better frames on pc the witcher dosnt look much better than the ps4 version lol

I prefer to play games as intended, personally. PC gaming has it's advantages beyond the modding scene, though. They aren't the be-all and end-all.

That looks...horrible..but hey, there is no accounting for taste :)

Agreed, it looks positively awful! I'm perfectly content with the vanilla version of the game.

Yeah, it’s the same as people who leg it through games as fast as they can. Some poor artist has slaved away on designing that scenery. Stop and admire their work for a while! :p

I've finally completed the base game, although in my haste to defeat the Wild Hunt, I'd forgotten about the assassination mission involving Radovid! I wish Emhyr had survived, but I still got the good ending in respect of Ciri and Yennefer, so that's a plus!

I plan to give the game a break, and attempt the expansions at a later date.

Throw out NWN1/NWN2, those are not great. Skyrim is...decent for exploration and fun, but very poor story and quest design.
Bloodlines and New Vegas are brilliant classics.
Witcher 3 is still better overall though :)
If you like D&D, NWN games are very good. I still play NWN online! Yes the graphics look very dated but it doesn't really bother me.

Dungeon Siege games are older but fun too.

finally caved in and got the GOTY edition of this. Installed and did the tutorial last night 1440p ultra everywhere (except hairw) and its 75+ fps.

Just gonna get some munchies in and i have 10 hours set aside today :)

Any essential mods? The HD reworked project maybe? (its number 1 on nexus)

Maybe the weight mod thing ( i had that with w2) and uhh is there a mod that gives 2 points instead of 1 per level? :D

I have HD Rework, Durable weapons and armour (ticked me off how fast my stuff broke), and a couple of ones for XP leveling though I can't recall what they are called.

Thanks for mentioning the durable weapons and armour, that's a mod I defo need so going to download now :)

Modding games is part of the fun to me, since I switched to pc gaming 2 years ago ive found modding almost as fun as playing the game lol its all part of it to me, ok some people may not be into it but for me its what sets the pc apart from consoles :)

I love taking a game and making it how I want it both in looks and gameplay, I literally spent HRS modding skyrim to get it how I wanted it, I enjoyed the game a hell of a lot more after as well, I say each to his own but to me modding the witcher ( and other games) makes them more enjoyable to play for me :)
