The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Yep, it's a CDPR "issue", Steam W3 updates also take forever to install - as I now learn: https://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/3723945543092296954/?ctp=3

I've just downloaded and installed a 9Gb patch for GTA5 (100Gb game) via Steam and, once downloaded , it took 2 mins to install. Same HDD as my W3 install. The first W3 Hotfix couple of days ago took well over an hour to install - not to download I stress, but the "applying patches" part in GOG. The second W3 hotfix is similar.
I was just joking around as CDPR own GOG :D

With regards the issue, I can only speak to the other CDPR game I have on GOG (CP2077) and it's never taken any longer to do updates/download than any Steam game.

I never said anything about how long it takes though. I'm talking about the need to reserve 51gb of space to install the patch. The actual download and installation took minutes.

Just played an hour, it's nice and the analogue sticks do respond really well, but I'm just too used to mouse and KB so have gone back to that.

I read somewhere, I think here, but can't find the post, about someone saying the game was crashing constantly, until he took his undervolt off.

Guess what, since the first hotfix, the same was happening to me, wasn't able to play for than a few minutes before a CTD.

Took my normally 100% stable UV off and now I can play the game again for hours a a time.

Well played, CDPR, well played.
that was me. I've ran my 3090 undervolted for best part of 2 years. This game refuses to run without eventually crashing if I have any kind of undervolt at all. It's a joke.

I'm tempted to get it on Steam at that price, everything in one place. The save states are the same between them right?

The only thing I hate about GOG is that if I launch the game from a shortcut or start menu, then it maximises GOG just to load the game which I hate. With Steam installs it never opens Steam when you launch via a shortcut.

I believe so.

All settings maxed, I've had a crash to desktop every attempt within 5-10 mins with frame generation on. Turned off GOG overlay this evening and finished a 2hr run without crash. Turned overlay on again, and crashed within 2 minutes. Seems frame gen doesn't like the gog overlay on my machine.
