Man of Honour
Ah I should have known, the Steam version loads "RED Launcher" when you run the game just like with Cyberpunk, at least it closes before the game actually loads...

You do realise that you can just launch it from the exe and avoid any GOG launcher nonsense?Installing on Steam now
Bye bye GOG...
Played any of the previous games or read any books? I can see how 3 can be hard to get into if you're starting there.Still not managed to get into this, tried playing it 4 times and I just dip out an hour or two in
I watched the TV series and I played 2 I think. Might go back to 1 and 2 to start again. Also will definitely check out the books.Played any of the previous games or read any books? I can see how 3 can be hard to get into if you're starting there.
Netflix show is pretty terrible, especially its second season (although the first is also bad as an adaptation). Books are awesome and so are the games.I watched the TV series and I played 2 I think. Might go back to 1 and 2 to start again. Also will definitely check out the books.

Finally got the hot fixes patched in after umpteen attempts
Same for me really. I enjoyed the TV series and then ended up playing through the game and both expansion packs! Some parts I was confused about such as past character relations etc but on the whole I enjoyed the game very much. The TV series was really good and formed the basis of why I ended up getting the game. Probably would have skipped it otherwise had I not been exposed to the characters on the show.
I read the books three times, first time when I was 13, so yeah I have some idea..Any idea roughly how many books there are, and best place to buy them?
After 5hrs, no crash today. I can confirm, my issue was frame generation with GOG overlay. With the GOG overlay enabled, id crash every time within 5 mins.
I totally forgot how much I liked the gfx style of this game, especially the dreamy colours at sunset etc. Now with a great hdr implementation, its even more beautiful, with raytracing adding the cherry
Unfortunately verify files didn't work for me. It would fix a problem where I wouldn't be able to get past the title screen due to a previous crash.I think I fixed my crash issues by simply verifying the game files in the gog config settings after the update (which I hadn't done). Not 100% sure it's totally sorted as I've not played that much, but before doing this it crashed about every 10 minutes.
Regarding the 'colours' of this game - pre and post patch I've always found them to be far too saturated by quite a long way to be honest (this was on an IPS screen back in the day and now on OLED). I've started making a reshade which for the moment is just focusing on tweaking the saturation way down, but vibrance up, and using various reshade sharpening filters as the in built settings I find to be rubbish with DLSS - Low does nothing and high is too high and a poor implementation.
