The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The only reshade I ever used was to remove the excessive yellow sun filter in Toussaint. Looked amazing, imho (shots from my 2016 playthrough):

Decided to give it a whirl without raytracing and it still looks great but admittedly missing a lot of... depth? Anyway something isn't right as with RT off but game bumped up to ultra+ it still dips into the 50s :/

The updates have fixed the stutters thankfully. Running very well at 4K on a 4080 with almost full settings (what is not enabled I don’t want such as DoF).

I thought the controls were crap and wondered why I liked the game the first time it released. Well it turns out the intermittent delay I was seeing was down to the USB-C cable being faulty. When I first played this I was mouse and keyboard only, I must admit it feels more intuitive using an Xbox controller.

I just remembered how much I hate Yennifer, I always pick the neutral purely business option with her. Also always hated the tripe childish “love interest” stories in these RPGs. You can tell they were scripted and written by incels who “think” they know how women think, or more to the point, behave how they fantasise.

Started my 3rd play through from scratch last night. Really enjoying the update and everything seems smooth. Truly the best game ever made

It really is a superb game.

Glad I held off playing until v4 was released.

Started a new game, the visuals + RT is breathtaking, and I'm continually impressed by the level of writing and depth of quests, which, IMO, is still unsurpassed to this day.

It's not just that about the writing, there's plenty of humour too despite it being a dark game. Also Geralts facial expressions. It's a masterpiece

So come across a little tip which MAY improve performance a little bit... When using HDR turn of auto HDR and for some reason performance has improved, not a massive amount but gains is gains.

Lots of RT parameters got exposed for TW3: https://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/3723945543104002796/

And if you want a quick preset for perf boost with RT: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/7432?tab=description

What are you getting in Novigrad daytime hours? I tried the performance config and saw only a couple of fps increase vs without it. Ultra+ settings. There does seem to be some subtle detail differences with it too.
