The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Heard and read so many good things about this game, but never got round to trying it - finally picked up the Complete edition in the Steam sale the other day and installing it now, did the 'next-gen update' improve it much, or not really?
Adds a bunch of mods that were quite common into the base game as a standard feature, some new shiny stuff, environments are improved, updated player models.

They've added quick sign casting so you can just hit 3-7 instead of going to the radial menu to select them mid battle.

Auto apply oils is a decent one, rather than fannying about at the start of a battle.

The game is excellent, One of the best but it does suffer with some random jittery game play every now and then. I've had to reboot my pc on occasion and then all is well again but some days it's played absolutely fine and that was before the next-gen update :D Now it plays mostly fine but occasionally it does freeze for a second or two before coming back to the real world.

I can live with that but I don't get any problems like that with other games except Warframe. I'm not going to loose any sleep over it ;)

I'm looking forward to Starfield. Can't resist a Bethesda RPG.

Yeah, that’s the only thing on my radar at the moment. Just replaying Fallout 4 with cheats this time, then I’ve got Doom and Doom Eternal to get through as I never got around to completing either of them.

Starfield looks incredibly promising, I just hope it delivers.

I expect BG3, Starfield and Phantom Liberty to very well satisfy my RPG cravings.

Although they did just get satisfied with Jagged Alliance 3, so good.

If you haven't played it yet, I found subnautica (first one) made a good follow up after witcher 3.

Thanks. My son enjoyed Subnautica, and it’s sequel, but I just didn’t enjoy them and gave up after a couple of hours.

Did start Kingdom Come Deliverance but didn’t get very far. Must go back to that at some point TBH as I’m sure it’s a great game once you’ve invested some time into it and started to develop your character.

Got the Doom games to play-through next but if they don’t hit the spot I’ll have another go at RDR2 until Starfield comes out.

Was sick of COD, the crashes, the cheaters and always being 1 v 3 in DMZ so I thought about replaying this while watching The Witcher on TV (girlfriend loves it). I didn't even know there was a next-gen update. Jackpot!

Oh. My. Goodness. Surely the best game ever? And looking better than ever before. Performs great too, I started on Sunday night was up til 3am griffin-hunting and only had one crash and have my few essential mods working now too.

This game world is so good. Having to stop to take lots of screenshots, and the characters, the depth of the crafting and alchemy. Feels like the best looting game ever too, and some of the combat is very satisfying, what a masterpiece. Can't wait to get back in to it.

Yep recently replayed the base game plus blood and wine, with the next gen update.

It’s possibly one of, if not, the greatest game ever released tbh. :) nothing for me has topped it yet.
Same. No other RPG comes close.

As for @HRL I can only suggest trying Mass Effect 2 (Remastered), otherwise Horizon Zero Dawn or AC Valhalla if you haven't already done so.
