Theres a mental woman who's decided to fall asleep on my doorstep!!

Policemen are following the law, their personal beliefs do not come into their job. I think you're (hurfdurf in particular) getting mixed up with some sort of western sheriffs. Whether the police agree with the laws or not, they are still required to enforece them. They are also expected to exercise personal judgement so, for example, if you looked incredibly red eyed and lean, they would be likely to stop you!

Don't open the door, call the police again or as above an ambulance. Don't open the door to a potential world of hassle you don't need. Just let the people who need to know, know then check every now and then by peaking out the window.

jeeze are people such pussies these days that they can't even open the door to a semi conscious/asleep female and simply check she is ok... she might well be in need of medical attention, there is the very remote possibility that she might have been injured/attacked in some way and or/collapsed on the doorstep when seeking help. She probably is just drunk, but you don't know that for sure unless you check.

If someone is unconscious and on your doorstep you open the door, check on them and say 'are you ok'... takes a few seconds of your time if they're just drunk then you can close the door and wait for the police if they're really cold to the touch, shallow breathing etc.. then you might want to ask for an ambulance and tell them that - they'll arrive a lot quicker.

The thing that nobody has realised is that you are all assuming her condition is based on booze or drugs.

There could be a genuine medical problem with this woman. Asim did the correct thing by calling the police/ambulance.

You are all so narrow minded.

Just checking they are breathing, their pulse and that they have no obvious injuries helps the ambulance service immensely. Nobody does it though.

The milk of human kindness is really overflowing in this thread, I wouldn't have left a dog out last night never mind a woman.
Would it have really put you out to get her indoors and make sure she was warm and comfortable for a few hours?

Total humanity fail :/

Edit.
Oh I see, Londoners, that explains it then.

I'm in Ireland which is probably 'safer' than England, and there's no way I'd leave some wreck of a person I don't know anywhere remotely near the inside of my property.

She way too easily could have done anything suggested by others in this thread or robbed the place, burned it down, killed him. What's to say he doesn't have a child in a bedroom, and you're openly willing to bring an unconscious, seemingly violent woman into your home?

What peaceful society do you live in? Maybe in the countryside I would throw blankets out to someone but in a large city they defo wouldn't be getting in my place!

Then you end up stabbed as she really was a crazed woman , not saying helping isn't the right thing to do but we have to consider all possibilities

I'm not sure why her condition being booze or drugs based would make it any less of a medical problem, but I get your sentiment :p

Ever heard of humour?? Or are you being super-humorous??

No, I am still incredibly angry over the thought that the only thing that saved this poor woman from sexual assault is the fact that she was not up to Asim's standards - and believe me they are quite low. She was a very lucky woman.

Pfft, you mean you're angry you weren't the one passed out on his doorstep! You dirty article! ;)
