@Nitefly awesome, that's definitely on my list now!
Great mine adventure pics. If my health was recoverable, it looks worth a crack for the bucket list.

Yeah deffo check it out.

Walked up Snowdon today which is nearby (taking the ‘pyg route’ - the harder route of those suitable for the general public) and on balance I was definitely more tired after Snowdon, so that should give you an idea of how strenuous the mine trip is... but the mine trip was definitely more intimidating!

Begad Nitefly! You remind me how much I miss hillwalking.

What did the mine smell like? Dry? Musty?

It was a bit musty and in some parts ‘damp’ as there was a bit of water in the mine (I’m not entirely sure whether this was natural drainage or man made for effect as I did see water coming out of a pipe at one point). The water section was super fun - I have no photos of that unfortunately! I had to lean so hard backwards to make it under a rock that I lost concentration my welly took in some water... most unpleasant! :o

Snowdon was also great. I was just checking out whether I could stomach the Crib Goch walk..... errrm, maybe not!

Wow.

The imagery reminded me of Coignafearn (I did a stint there as lead- beater during the grouse season when a student). Thankyou.

No issue. Just the coincidence with the recent news story/forum thread somebody being dismissed after taking time off following death of their dog. :)
Ah right sorry I misread the "I kid you not" as disbelief thay they would do it, rather than disbelief at the coincidence. :)

Grr. Still no keys. Darn realty left very wrong instructions for staff. Im wondering if im the only person who gets annoyed at those who take their work 2SD less seriously than I take mine.

I'm guessing you're not in the UK or that's a really weird time to be exchanging keys!

So I read you can colour your hair with coffee. Tried it earlier but didn't work (predictably) :o my hair now smells of coffee though :p

Been waiting for hairdressers to do their usual text of "we haven't seen you for a while here's 25% off" but still no sign of it so guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay full price :p

Have you tried mustard?

Do council employees go on jobsworth training?

Rang to inform them that the bins weren't collected on Friday (for the whole block) After taking my details and finding out I put my bin out at 7.30am on Friday (usually the collection is around midday on my estate) she quoted the line "Bins need to be out by 5.30am if not then you will need to wait till next collection in a fortnight"

I pointed out that it wasn't just my bin, the whole block wasn't collected and many of those were out from Thurs night her answer "yes, but you can only report your bin not being collected and it wasn't put out until after the 5.30am deadline"

I would have done if I knew that was going to be her response :p

It's just that level of bureaucratic thinking grinds my gears, it's obvious something happened for no-ones bins to have been collected, mine wasn't missed because it was "put out late"

@Freakbro tweet the council and complain about the bins, cc-ing a local rag. That’ll sort it. In fact, that’s what I did when my bins were not collected one week. Tweeted in the afternoon, received an apology tweet, bins collected the next morning.

Kind of lame I had to do that but hohum. I was unable to ‘formally complain’ because I didn’t do so within 24 hours of the bin collection days. I was away! What Orwellian bull**** backthinking is that... complaints are time limited? lol

Nothing beat a bit of public shaming on Twitter.

Obviously i'm not talking supercars here but was looking at car hire for a trip were booking and some of the basic cars are dirt cheap! Not really sure what's going on!

Sadly, when you scroll down to actually interesting cars they're back at prices you'd expect.

It is applying all your expedia points for those.

Bloody great bit of local news for us today. A local elderly blind lady has been burgled 3 times by the same scumbag, just kept going back every few months and cleaning her out again. On the third occasion, the filth even pushed her over and threatened to kill her guide dog. Well he can now look forward to a 14 year sentence. I only hope the other cons get a whiff of it too, and give him the hiding he deserves. Total scumbag.
