For pleasure was going to see a friend who I haven't seen since before COVID and his new born plus the rest of the lads...

British customs were so much better, took me to a room offered be a cup of tea and biscuits (first liquid and solids for a while)
Luckily there's a railway strike on apparently wouldn't want my misery to prematurely end.

They sent me to Stansted, I flew from Bristol my car is in Bristol.....

You couldn't make this **** up
At least you were treated better this side - Can't believe you now have a criminal record for it!

Train to Bristol?

I've even got a mugshot and a fingerprint

Yeah I've got one to Liverpool Street then I've to tab over to Paddington and a train from Paddington to Bristol, then a bus to the airport.

So guess who's in the cologne police station and is being deported from Germany....

Yep that me.

My on flight luggage was stolen and it had my passport in it...

So I was arrested for trying to gain entry into the country without a valid form of identification.

So now I have a German criminal record for my bag being stolen.

**** my life, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

Ok so I'm being deported to Stansted I live in Carmarthen...

And they haven't let me sleep so I'm on no sleep in 24 hours in 2 hours...
That is terribly bad luck. So sorry you had to go through that and through no fault of your own!!

Did they not contact any agency in the UK to confirm your identity? Sounds so weird.

How did they not let you sleep?

Kept checking in on me making a massive ruckus when in the cell, but in the departure lounge there's no benches and such high footfall even I can't sleep there.

It's odd ain't it, when I went through the British customs the guy got a copy of my passport from a system along with my driver's license and my national insurance number

Got a bugmenot account to go with that subscription wall?

Odd no subscription request here, i've heard others say the same thing about Inews but i can read the stories, not sure if it depends what ISP you're on or if it's Ublock Origin bypassing it?

Sorry that you're getting a subscription request, maybe someone has a better link as it was in most of the USA and UK papers.

Trying to work out how in the fresh hell I’m supposed to get from Liverpool to the US Embassy in London for a visa interview on the 5th at 8.30am. See if I can get an early enough train on the day, a hire car or perhaps if I can get there the day before if work will let me expense an overnight stay…

0830 is definitely an overnight stay job.

It was litterally in the cabinet above.my head. I waited till the end before leaving as my friend was getting in about 35 minutes after me so I was in no rush.

Got up went to grab my bag and it wasn't there, told the flight staff who told security but the person who took it was through customs before security got there. So a German passport holder must have taken it.

I tried to raise the issue with the border security and they sent security to search the plane.
No joy so they placed me under arrest for trying to enter Germany without a valid form of identification???

Put me in a cell for 3 hours between 8 and 11, then Interviewed me for 2 hours put me back into the cell to sleep for the flight home in the morning.

At 2 am they came in and took me out of the cell, escorted me through the airport and dumped me in departures. Where they took my wallet off me.

I then spent the night trying to sleep but failed massively.

They then left me alone till 7 ish where they frog marched me through the departure lounge and then frognmarched me up onto the plane

A couple of my colleagues have recently been banged up in German cells overnight. Their crime was that the number of entry stamps in their passports did not equal the number of exit stamps. In my line of work (airline) it's entirely possible to enter Europe through say, Italy for example, where they just wave you through without a stamp. But god help you if you exit via Germany in that case. I must admit I don't know what would happen to a German if they turned up at the U.K. border without a passport.

Stumbled across the fact that just about everything on a Passiflora (Passion Flower) is edible. I've been eating the fruit since I was a child and feel like I've missed out

The flowers are really sweet and the leaf reminded me of cabbage from my tasting yesterday (I have the white flowering variety)

Check out before running mouth open at one in your garden as one variety is not edible.
