Why is there a load of graffiti in France, Spain and Italy (plus others)?

Second country that I have seen graffiti on a church.

The delights who graffiti the UK don’t daub on churches and other religious buildings.

Heart breaking to see a 16thC church door with tagging on it.

I just got back from a few days in Central Spain.

The grafitti there is shocking. Everything, including windows, is covered with pathetic scrawls. It is very annoying.

Avila was the only place I went that did not suffer from it, for some reason I don't understand.

Just had six days in Spain with some mates.

Avila is a beautiful town, with city walls that go on for miles. Had a drinking until 5am night there, which I didn't expect.

Went to the Valley of the fallen (civil war memorial) which was mighty impressive, especially as it was practically deserted.

Went to El Escorial, Philip II's Palace. Incredibly opulent and huge.

Then Salamanca, which is beautiful, and chock full of ornate churches.

Segovia next, which was pretty nice, but steep as hell.

Finally, Madrid, where I saw a brutal street robbery. The victim got floored and smashed his face to bits on the pavement when he went down. Horrible. Went to the Prado, which is the best art museum I have ever visited. It got to the point where I was "christ, not another raphael".

I'm in total agreement with posts above about the lack of a decent cup of tea!
