who electricity bill is only £66 pm

Mine £200 :(
My combined gas/electric DD was £60something a month until my fixed rate ended last month. Now SP want £200+/month and they won't let me reduce that amount. We're (well I am, the 3 other ladies in my house, not so) always turning everything off when not in use, so I'm confident/hopeful I can get that down to sub-£200. Only gas we use is for the hot water, on for 30 mins/day with the occasional top up when the 3 wummin decide they all want baths.

Come winter, I'll have a better idea how I'm doing. My log burner does heat the whole house, but the Mrs won't use it, so when I'm at work, she'll stick the CH on.

I don't think I've had any formal communication from SP yet as to how the £400 rebate will be applied.

so I have read conflicting bits and bobs. this £66 a month is it going directly on our energy accounts (sensible imo) or is it going into our bank accounts (not bothered either way but doesn't seem sensible imo)

directly on our energy accounts

It depends on the supplier. Some are putting it directly on the energy account and others are paying it into bank accounts.

My entire bill for both elec and gas is £80 (averaged over the year)

Take the SC off and it's £55/month

@Zenduri

What with the £66/month being paid to our Eon energy bills, will they allow me to drop my monthly payment by that amount once Oct hits?

Tried to just now but it won't let me go lower than 10% of the "recommended" monthly DD.

Be daft if they don't allow it.

Ignore... I see the website now stating that the discount will come off the standard monthly DD automatically so, although it shows £80 for me, they will only take £14.

Based on your usage over the last 12 months perhaps £200 is the correct amount to cover your anticipated usage over the next 12 months.

I have a spreadsheet for tracking energy cost/use (because of course). I'm only seeing a 5% increase based on the new rates for october, was expecting closer to 25%. Anyone else seeing similar? I'll be better off with the £400 discount over the winter vs the current rate, still more than a year ago though.

I use about 2500kWh elec and 12500kWh gas annually:

Dont hold this as gospel but i think the last thing i read was your DD would be auto adjusted to account for the monthly £66/67 poyment. E.g If your DD is £100 then we would claim £34 via your DD and add a credit on the bill for £66

Think you've cocked something up in your spreadsheet. Your April 2022 is correct, but the Oct 22 should be £2432.37 PA, or £202.70 PM. You've applied the £400 discount on the Oct 22 already.

we do this in the winter as the wood burner multifuel stove is on and we have a high celling in that room.
Airer is one of the ones(cast iron ends with slats of wood running through it to hang clothes) that you hoist up to the top of the celling.
Any recommendations on which to buy? Size etc :)

Eon’s website now says ‘The new cap level does not apply to you right now if you are on a fixed-term tariff.’ Wtf?
Pretty sure someone has edited the page and ****** up hard with the edit.

This is the original blog post https://blog.eonnext.com/entries/98-New-government-energy-bills-scheme-announced

It seems like someone has half assed an edit on the price cap page and added the top two sections/paragraphs about the EPG But havent edited the rest of the document which related to the 26th August price cap announcement before the EPG announcement so they contradict each other now. I've jumped on my work laptop and left a slack message for a contact to get it updated

I'm getting £2,433.87 per annum (Electric £1,032.65 / Gas £1,401.22), or £202.82 per calendar month. Personally, I'd set the direct debit to £210/pcm.

My 4-bed with 2 adults, 2 kids is £66pm and we both WFH too. Assuming you have electric heating, elec showers or an EV or something?

66 a month??
My 3 bed with 2 adults only is 80 a month.

Edit.
I tell a lie. It's 50.just checked my bill!
40 for 24 days.
So about 50 for a month

I’m not sure how that’s even possible, is that on a long-standing fix rather than the variable rate? And does that include SC?

Edit* I don’t mean that to come across as questioning if it’s the truth, I’m more envious :)
