This is why people are losing respect for the police...

Should have stayed as England manager mate, you seem to have too much time on your hands now.

It takes two seconds to find that timeline of Stephen's offences, why are you uncomfortable with it?

A man who whines about British values seemingly disappearing, but clearly isn't someone who displays those values himself.

Back in the "good old days" the police IIRC confiscated your passport if you had an outstanding court appearance, or would require you not to leave the country as part of the bail conditions.
Back in the good old days you could travel on an id card.. driving licence..

Poster boy has done a runner now, last seen crossing the tunnel. I wonder if he used a dinghy like the rest of the criminals!
From what I've read he was detained at a port leaving to take his children on holiday. Once he was released on bail he continued with his family holiday.

But if he had to appear in court today then he's a very naughty boy.

Certainly could have done with the Manchester airport cop on scene if what’s being posted on Twitter is true..

This is true. I'm away at the moment but this is less than half a mile from where i live. Its a truly horrific act. RIP to the little one thats lost their life and to those still undergoing treatment.

As its a small'ish town we are bound to know someone effected.

It was pretty obvious from your sarcastic response, sometimes things can be easily implied.

Also quite rich, implying he has too much time on his hands when you have one of the highest post counts in this thread
It was tongue in cheek, and I have about 20 minutes per hour free time whilst I’m at work, so yes.

I'm down in Formby at the moment and heard a load of police cars scream past, then the fire brigade and ambulances left so thought something must be up.

Yeah, Friends and Family reported scores of emergency services flying down the Bypass. I used to train at the Gym he was caught in... No local reports coming through with any decent info as yet. I suspect my Police contacts may be busy for a while. So trying to ignore the usual Facebook Sleuths etc...

If? The court hearing was today.

Perhaps he forgot?

Can't quite say I understand why we've had decades of consolidating laws that were perfectly fine as they were under a questionable umbrella of counter terror legislation, but I suppose it serves as nice distraction from harder issues. Maybe those laws still exist and the officer just went with the least hassle?

It is also a convenient way of sneaking in more draconian measures that apply generally under the guise of being anti terror. It is a classic trick used by certain governments throughout history.
