They did have permission until 20:30 I think but it went on after, but of course its not permission to riot..Suspect the police are using the same laws that some on here are cheering about being used on JSO protestors, you know the one about having to seek permission to demonstrate.
Yeah I suspectthat the thug team last night didn't have permission to hold their protest there at all so after being asked to move on they got the same treatment, arrest to remove them and then de-arrest at another location.
Whats good enough for one load of gormless morons is good enough for all the gormless morons.

You have Faux environmental protesters allowed to block roads which led to fatal consequences, no action taken.
And here you have people crossing a road getting piled on, arrested and then released shortly after.

The leaders of Just Stop Oil were recently jailed to much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Relatively long sentences too.

Eyes. Literally had the police taking the knee at violent BLM protests.
They were arresting old ladies, old men just randomly picking people out of the kettled in protesters and those in the area. The only time there was trouble in London last night was when the police in full riot gear decided to kettle people into small areas and thought grabbing people out of the crowd was a good idea.

Very confused scenes online, suddenly the protestors are the victim of "police brutality". You can actually look at people's timeline where they are calling the police scum, then scroll down a few days earlier where they are screaming the Manchester airport kicking was justified and police need our backing and respect.
As much as I deplore the people rioting and those backing the riots online, I just kind of feel sorry for them too. So many seem to have lost any kind of rationality and clarity in their thinking.

Was this for blocking or crossing roads or for something else?

Its like that clip from Moscow where the guy asks someone a question and immediately police appear and arrest them
