This looks AWESOME

So many people have 360's in their front room rather than in a study. Who the hell wants to sit on the sofa or floor with a KB and M.

Me

I haven't got the luxury of having it in the living room as it's not really practicle for me to be in there most of the time, i like to keep things in my room so i can have mates round aswell without getting moaned at.

Graphics card upgrades are turning into a joke. £200 per 6 months to stay ontop.

Memory upgrades to 2GB.

Processor upgrades every year.

Antivirus subscriptions.

Windows updates. Windows Vista. DX10

gfx drivers.

Crashes and incompatibilities.

All this crap just to play CSS/BF2 or whatever comes next!

I hope it doesn't take off, or at least there are servers which are keyboard/mouse only etc.

It's just going to through the even playing field out of the window, that's the only negative for me personally.

What about the lag, the aim will only move at the same rate as the controller, it wont move quick like a mouse does.

So you will move the mouse quick and the movement of the aim will only move slowly like a controller.

I imagine this would be too annoying to play with.

Watching that video, don't know if it's my eyes but that's either fake or there's a lot of mouse lag. Doesn't look as if it's moving in time with his mouse movements.

its real but and there is mouse lag, after all its just emulating controller movement apparently and not not actually speeding things up like a actual mouse would hence the delay which would be the actuall conroller movement to be in that same position. Thats what i've heard anyway.

both those games work on a 8500le. If you want fancy graphics however theres a price to pay, gameplay is pretty much 90% on cheaper setups if you dont mind

This controller is most likely not as good as a mouse but still its a good attempt I guess. I wonder how well the ps3 setup will work, anyone have experience of it?

I really hope it fails miserably.

I'm not much of a gamer these days but wanted to get a 360 in the new year to go with the new TV. I don't want to get one if people start using a KB+M.

This would completely ruin the main appeal of Live for me. No way would I be interested in getting a KB+M, then finding somewhere to use it, then having all the trailing wires making a mess everywhere. :(

I couldn't careless if people used either a controller or a KB+M since just about every game I own they wouldn't be able to fully use that advantage against me (mainly because the controls are optimised for controllers). For example in Halo 2 the only thing that would be better then the controller is the sniper rifle then all I would have to do is make sure they dont get it.

I would be able to Jump better then them, beat them down quicker and have overall better manuverability. So unless I'm at a long range and they have a sniper rifle I don't have that much to be concerned about, also if they do have a sniper rifle all I have to do is stay hidden and behind cover and they cannot do much.

Bad idea imo. I do play fps on my PC, but the reason I like consoles too is that I can chill out on the sofa and use a joypad. If I wanna play kb+m fps I might as well use the PC - and I dont wanna hear the 'xbox is cheaper than pc' argument because I bet 95% of people who approve of this play fps games on a PC. Having said all that I really dont think it will take off anyway.

Have'nt got time to read thread as have to be in work,

I don't like the idea of that at all and that's coming from someone that loves using keyboard and mouse, the 360 is nowhere near powerfull enougth to handle that kind of input without lagging (yes I own a 360 I and love it), you can clearly see from the video that the mouse is far from responsive, and thats only going to make the game less enjoyable.

personally i think its a good idea but doesnt really work watching the video.

There is mouse lag due to it emulating the controller. I dont think the controller can compare to keyboard/mouse for FPS games, its simply the best control method for FPS so why not use it?

Just give ppl the choice of what they use and limit servers to controllers or K/M. If ppl want to chill out and play with controllers let them and if they want to get more control and rely on reflexes a little more let they use K/M.
It would level the playing field a lot more than PC's as the hardware is at least fixed and only the input devices can vary and possibly screen/monitor.

This wont happen properly through the sidedoor with mouse emulation, hopefully it stirs something from Microsoft.

What the hell is wrong with this? I mean Gord's comment (you surprise me on this, even go as far as calling you a dirty traitor :p) Take Pro Evo on the PC, people use PS2 pads, XBOX pads, keyboards, other 3rd party pads, no complaints can be heard, not everyone is the same, but it still works fine. So why not let FPS gamers on the consoles have a choice of controls.
Im no dirty traitor. I know what your saying Fubs, that giving the people options to choose is good, but in this case id much rather seen the console live platform be controller only, unless there was definitely no advantage from having the keyboard/mouse.

Pro Evo on the PC is a bit different because its not about the twitch sensitivity like a first person shooter.

Ask Fubs what my favourite CS weapon has been since ever.. :p

Wooo ho ho ho merrrrryyyy chistmas, relax dude ;) , I own a 360 and I love it to bits but to be able to keep up with a mouse running at 2000dpi is another ball game all together, look at the video that was posted, you can actually it see it lagging, for some people that may not be an issue for me it is and I think for many people that are used to the responsiveness of a high quality mouse on a decent PC setup than it will be an issue for them also, hell people moan about 50ms input lag on tft screens.

I agree. PCs are for sitting at a desk, consoles are for sitting back on the sofa in front of the tv.

Which is why I don't play consoles, i hate sitting back and playing games, maybe I'm weird like that, but I see games as competition, I play to win, and I just can't do that in a relaxed state.

And so with the above in mind makes using a unresponsive pad to play and FPS game is just never gonna work for me :( This is my only hope of ever being able to play games like GoW.
