Thrones of Britannia - A Total War Saga

I would buy this today ready for tomorrow, but I'm on mobile broadband for at least two weeks so it seems a bit pointless to buy it now when I can't download it to play it.

Once I'm back to normal, I'll buy it then, and hopefully, the first patch or two will have been released by then.

Some of the more recent previews were saying it's definitely better optimised than Attila (not that that would be hard). Reviews seem to think the campaign is shallow, but the siege battles are epic. Hmmm I do like what I've seen of sieges so far, but if the campaign map is boring, I may hold off for a while.

This video made it look amazing. It looks like Creative Assembly took inspiration from Crusader Kings 2 in this game.

I believe those mechanics existed in some form on Shogun 2 and Rome 2. CK2 is far more complex.

Talking about CK2, my motto for that game is
When Black Death hits, is such a great opportunity to be a tyrant, by the end either all your vassals are dead or your character is, win win!

Btw I am looking forward only to the Total War : Three Kingdoms, in October.

I remember playing the Empires and Napoleon TW games and I enjoyed having the use of gunpowder etc. I have always wished that they would again include a period of history which would bring back those sorts of weapons.

I would be interested in a TW game depicting the first World war.

I'll pass on buying this one. Struggling to be enthused about it.

RTW2 was a joke at launch, shaped up better after many patches tho.

I kind of agree tbh. So far this just looks like a rehash of many previous total war games, but without the scale. Now give me Total War Medieval 3 and I would throw money at them. I also miss some of the gunpowder components - I really enjoyed Empires, especially once it had been well patched. They just have too much of a focus on Warhammer now (understandable being a huge moneymaker).

The Warhammer games mean very little to me. The fantasy aspect of that type of game does not interest me.
MTW2 was probably one of their better games for my enjoyment, altho I do like the Roman period.

I suppose, apart from Agents, family trees etc etc etc being included or not they can be a little bland. Anyway that is how I largely see this release

Give me guns and artillery..!
