Titanic submersible confirmed destroyed with loss of all five souls onboard.

You'd think would have multiple methods to send signal if one didn't work? Or technology hasn't advanced enough ? in that case more reason not to do it :( till more advances are found
It ain't got no seats a tiny window...next to a makeshift-like toilet steered by a Xbox controller
High risk travel...was the name not a clue

This whole rescue is a bit of an embarrassment for the US. If they can't find something that wants to be found what hope would they have from an adversary. The Co-founder and Chairman, Horizon Maritime Services said they had the best equipment in the world yesterday. Seems like a bunch of bs peddlers now.

Easier to rescue someone from space, than from 4Km deep in the ocean, being at those sorts of depths is probably one of the most helpless and dangerous places you can go on earth.

wat

You have no idea how big and deep the ocean truly is, do you?

Considering what it's equipped with, there's an argument to be made that it doesn't want to be found if something goes wrong.

You can have the best equipment in the world but the task at hand can still be insurmountable.

If I was betting I'd still be betting that it was some catastrophic failure at the point they lost contact. Has always made the most sense. And would be the best outcome to find now.
You would think the US navy was listening to the ocean anyway to detect subs etc, they would have detected an implosion if it occurred? Maybe. Not that they'd tell us though.

An ex Navy Admiral was saying on Sky yesterday, that just being within the vicinity of the Titanic will result in you hearing lots of clunks and bangs, apparently the wreck is constantly moving, bits are falling off it, the wreck itself makes a lot of noise.

See the titanic, like out of a window, only from a tv screen… they could have just done that from the boat above and not put themselves at risk!

This was our conclusion at work yesterday (Some top engineering was done, by some some top automotive engineers)

So we need to kickstart a ship capable of launching ROV`s lets say 8, We get 8 people with more money than sense to pay for a 4 week expedition to the site of the titanic (sea sickness and all) Stick them shipping container for 2 days and let them pilot the ROVs with some 8k TVs on the walls to let them zoom about and look at stuff from a big boat that sunk. We can have people pay extra for the ROV that can pick up a plate or something.

I think the depths this thing was going to were far below the capability of any military sub.

No idea. Maybe it wouldn't be picked up. Maybe it would be similar to background noise.

Id assume they'd have found the craft by now if it had an issue and still be intact. I assume it would be very near the titanic and thus not too hard to find.

I think it most likely did so if it went dark you either have a complete power failure or the thing got crushed like a crisp packet.

I am 100% sure the people who built this thing know exactly what happened already.

If the sub had different forms of communication and were all on the same power source then you have the plausible conclusion that the thing could have lost all power. If each form of communication was on a different power source or even switchable power source then an implosion seems far more likely. This is all theory and conjecture obviously but once you know how the thing is built you can put together a picture quite easily. At least I would hope so.

A tiny object not moving or making noise on the bottom of the ocean at depths no military submarines work at hardly compares to a Russian/Chinese navy submarine that could be a threat does it. What a stupid comment.

Still can't believe people would actually pay to go on that expedition given everything that has come to light. No way am i paying £200k with something controlled by a Xbox controller.

Well when it comes to an adversary, any enemy sub doesn't operate at the depths at play here, think its something like between 600-1000 metres, where as the titanic is around 3800 metres.
