Today's mass shooting in the US

Been asked by work countless times now to go to the states, travel round a few states visiting some clients, doing some work for a few weeks and then coming back, everytime I could not think of anything worse and do everything I can to get out of it.

Class me as scared or overly worried whatever whatever, but the amount of guns, shootings, randomly involved individuals and more pushes me to have that view and not want visit in any capacity.

Add on the religious and constitution lunatics and the fact that none of them (like some on this forum), cannot listen to counter arguments or logic in some senses and just constantly fall back on their counter which has been disproved or is just outrageously stupid. You cant fight Ill-logic with logic when the one with ill-logic has a weapon capable of taking a life at a safe distance, instantly and feel justified in violence for disagreeing with/threatening their views.

The fact that gun lobbies and events ban any guns coming in to the event should tell you enough about how backwards they all are.

From what I've read the only time/place that's ever been mentioned/he's ever mentioned it in public is in that statement from his lawyer...
why does that matter? The rules those on the left have created is that you have to believe someone regardless - if someone says they are non binary or whatever then that's what they are, you can't go around picking and choosing who to believe 'just because'.

This is hysteria and ignorance, the vast majority of the US is perfectly safe, most of the violent shootings happen in places that you just would never go to, and the US is vast and the rough areas can literally be a thousand miles away. It's like saying you wouldn't go and visit York as a tourist because Croydon is a **** hole.

It's not often I agree with a Roar87 post, but this is one of them. The US is a lovely place with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet (I've been to 16 states). The world outside of the news and Twitter is actually not as scary as people (on all sides) want you to believe.

Happy to admit yeah I might be a tad ignorant to it all, but without knowing where I would be visiting in America, you are showing the same tendencies.

Vast majority could be safe, does not mean the risk is not present though, I am aware of said risks in this country too, but the probability is much lower.

edit:
For ref, using this site - https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting
It shows that just in the last 2 weeks, there has been a mass shooting in each state and within a 50 mile radius of where I would be working, this is across 3 different states. Think my concerns are just.

I think if you look the actual murder rates in most places in America they're pretty low and comparable to Western European cities, it's just the places that aren't safe are considered to be some of the worst places in the world. America is a country of extremes.

disagree.

Comparing it to my most frequent visited city in the UK, London comes in at rank 134, homicide of 1.37 per 100k people.
Compare that to a place in America where work want me to go in Atlanta - rank 68, homicide of 32 per 100k people.

How am I not justified in this case?

Do post some evidence of that.

disagree.

Western Europe, not a single city in the top 100. USA, 38. Yeah I agree with you.

Spanish Inquisition says hi!

The Spanish Inquisition was centuries ago, when the world was a savage and unenlightened place. The US has no such excuse.

I've been to the US a couple of times, I have lots of friends there and some extended family too. It is a great place to visit. But I would never live there. It's a dog eat dog world.
