Tom Clancy's "Jack Ryan" - Amazon Prime TV Show - ETA 2018

Overall I thought it was pretty good. Nothing particularly original but worth watching. I thought Greer was OK, but John Krasinski as Ryan was excellent, best thing about the whole series imo. Hope it/he grows with S2.

Hoping for some Russian shenanigans which is likely considering he's off to Moscow!
 
Just watched E2 and the ending has put me off.

He's chasing that bloke, totally capable of catching him with him being shot and like seriously injured yet he just stops and gives up.

WTF.
 
I've seen 4 episodes and don't really want to pursue this any further, it just seems a bit 'beige' if that makes sense?

Shame as I used to love the Jack Ryan films back in the day. I think there is too much focus on Jack being, well, Jack (from what i have seen). They seem to have lifted all the good stuff about his character and stuffed it all together, and while it kind of works he now just feels like a huge cliche of himself.
 
Finished this last night, really enjoyed it, think the 8 episode format works well as I could see other tv-shows drag this story to 16 episode series, and it being a boring plod.

Can't wait for season 2!
