Tomb Raider 2: Rise of the Tomb Raider Announced

Bleh, and a crying shame as I enjoyed the 2013 game despite the dodgy QTEs and not quite perfect PC controls.

Goes on my list of never buying from again even if they do release a PC version a few months later, not going to support that kind of attitude from developers.
 
lol i cant believe this. Tomb raider was one of my favourite games from last year. Way to alienate your fanbase. i can only imagine how great this would have been on pc.

This is such a BS move by Microsoft, they've essentially paid off a developer to make a game exclusive when it was originally announced as multi-platform. Either this is going to be a permanent exclusive, which is stupid because TR isn't a good enough game to be a major console seller, or it's a timed exclusive, which is still shady because it's tricking people into buying an XB1.

All this announcement has done is push me further away from buying an XB1 and made it more likely I'll buy a PS4.

Am I the only one that doesn't see it as some huge atrocity?! Developers have been switching allegiance between developers for a very long time, why is it suddenly such a heinous crime?

Because this sets a bad precedent for the gaming industry. Take exclusives out of the equation and there a lot of people who think that the PS4 is the better choice out of the two consoles (sales figures confirm this). Therefore, it's likely this won't be the last time MS buys exclusivity. It might only be TR this time, but next time it could be a really massive game that everybody loves.

edit: please let's not make this a console war. I don't even own a Sony console, and have been a long-term Xbox 360 owner.

Sorry but anyone who seriously thinks the PS4 is a better package than the One needs their head looking at. Looking forward to playing the new tomb raider (with the first being EASILY as good as uncharted 3).

think that's a little harsh, choice and all that, but I think the issue here is not which console is better value, but more the game was announced at first for all next gen machines, including pc. there will be a lot, and its being voiced too over the net disappointed tomb raider fans.

if the game had been announced from the start as exclusive to x1 then so be it. but I was looking forward to seeing the game, but as I only have a pc or pz4 guess I wont now. lost sale, shame but it's business and money always wins over....

loads of other games coming out , sad loss but not the end of the world. I wont buy an x1 for it... but if the game ever comes to pc I wont buy it either, purely as they didn't announce from the start it was a x1 exclusive or timed... if it was announced from the start, then so be it, and many exclusive Xbox games end up on pc.. but this one, no thbsk you...
