Tomb Raider 2: Rise of the Tomb Raider Announced

Absolutely gutted about this as Tomb Raider was my favorite game of last year. To do this after the game announcement is nothing sort of shocking. Still won't be "forced into buying a XBONE, MS and Crystal Dynamics can do one. They have lost a lot of good will with this.

We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past - we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft.

This doesn’t mean that we’re walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC. Those are great systems, with great partners, and amazing communities. We have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris coming to those platforms this December, and Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is available on PS4.

More pathetic lies they are walking away Temple Of Osiris is built on the Guardian Of Light engine in other words download only title sold as retail full price product to make up for the lack of funds from PC/PS4 gamers

Its obviously designed to be the Unchartered clone on XB1 but I doubt it will sell more consoles its just going to make them go bust sooner even if they bring to PC later on in a few years goodwill will have dissolved so its a 75% off only buy to many now.
 
I really enjoyed the first one like a lot of people. I considered getting an XB1 for about 10 seconds before I realised it was stupid. I wouldn't be surprised to see it sneak out for the PC at least some point down the line.

It is a shambles though. But they're free to do as they wish and they will probably live or die on this decision. It's certainly brave.
 
Look at it this way, Darrell no longer has to worry about the number of copies his next game will sell, he's already been paid. I understand the decision from a business point of view, the latest Tomb Raider cost a tone of money and the first month sales were at 50% of their expectations, which means it was very slow to recoup the costs and go into the green.
 
People on NeoGuff seem to think they have the inside scoops with certain member's, no matter how many times they have been wrong in the past.
 
Well this sucks :(. I have always been a massive tomb raider fan and Tomb Raider started off on the Ps1 and PC, so this is a massive kick in the nuts to the platforms that made TR the recognisable brand it is today.

Are Microsoft going to buy up all of the multiplats to save the embarrassment of the having the inferior version? :p

I can't say I'm too disappointed tbh, played the Definitive Edition for about 3 days total (long enough to fully complete single player) and eventually traded it in.
