Oddly, the benchmark does kill fps :P

But ingame, I turned everything on, including post processing excluding TressFX, and not dipped below 60 yet!

But dear god does this game look good! The atmosphere is perfect! I am a collector in games, have to find everything and explore everywhere! The game obviously rewards you for this. I am really, REALLY enjoying it.

Combat is both slow and fast dependent on how you take it. I love using the bow for stealth, it feels really good.

Movement is fluid and smooth. Just like the old tomb raider games if anything. They have not gone the route most new games go which is uninterpretable animations. But Tomb Raider is good, you can be midway through rolling and decide to jump. Just makes you feel that more in control.

Just saved right before that cave (first tomb) we have all seen in the demo's. About 3 hours in and I feel I am just getting started. Going to have a quick snack, then crack on until late tonight haha.

I would like to use TressFX, but I have a couple of grips. The hair has NO weight, so just flops around all over. Surely the rain, mud and blood will clog it up? I personally prefer the normal look. Secondly, the clipping on TressFX is awful. But, new tech and excited to see it's use in future titles.

Hmm, I really want this actually.

For those that have played it, does it feel like a Tomb Raider? Is there much exploring to be done at your own pace or is it fairly linear?

What's your specs mate?

Post Processing usually has all the good effects in it (hence the heavy hit), disabling it will mean you miss out on a lot of the visual goodies.

He wanted a solid 60fps, many do have a need for 60fps, its nice to get this but I do sometimes feel its not fully required for single player adventure type games like this..

I've played many games in the past and not even broke 25fps when on older hardware. I had to endure Dishonoured on a AMD 5650M it was 720p, low details and I managed, and I mean managed to just break 25fps sometimes, I enjoyed the game right to the end, and it was playable - just..!!

I got Crysis 3, 7970m which for me is the single powerful GPU I've ever owned. Pretty much maxed the game, then starting to tone down AA and turned some settings down from very high to high, ran in borderless window mode, no v sync got very good fps 30 - 45fps and the game was lovely to play, looked stunning.

so for me, if it gets 35fps maxed out - good enough for me.

Actually, in game (outside of benchmark), I still have yet to see a dip below 60 with it on. And I have to admit, the game just looks 10 fold better with it on. So yea, I have everything cranked up to Ultra (ultimate is with tressfx) and I'm not seeing any dips below 60.

What nvidia card do you have agnes, im kinda worried that mine will struggle after trying to play crysis 3.

EVGA 670 GTX FTW edition
8GB ram
i5 3570k @4GHz
Running at 1920x1080

This game looks the dogs!

The game is not linear, it's perfect. There is your way point, approach at your own pace. But you don't feel like it's forgotten, as there is dialog to remind but its not intrusive. I think it's done perfectly!

I loved all the tomb raiders, and this one is no exception. It feels like I'm playing a young Lara Croft, she is weak, but some of the traits remain. She is the new Lara Croft and I hope to see more titles!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I have got a few steam achievements, most seem to be focused around collecting... Which for achievement chasers, have fun lol.

Good game so far, it feels most like Arkham Asylum (not City) with a smattering of Uncharted and some Tomb Raider. Done a couple of the puzzle rooms so far, they are small and self contained, do miss the huge Mayan statues with 4 seperate puzzle rooms to explore of the original.
