Tommy Robinson quits the EDL

You are aware the the Koran has hundreds of interpretations and the worst of those are followed by the salafists and whabi's who are no more misogynists wanting to keep control. These clowns are being found out for what they are hence the reasons for the "Arab Spring".

Uh, the Arab Spring is nothing to do with extremists being found out.

Most of these regimes are/were fairly moderate when it comes to Islam.

Wrong stop believing what the media want you too.Arab spring is moderates and secularists going up against muslims and hardcores. Why else do you think Obama has waded in to support his brotherhood? He offered them Sinai and apparantly channeled over 1 billion in funds to them.

And better yet he has been accused by the Egyptian goverment of being a Brotherhood member! Thats why he was itching to bomb assad.

You really need to get a better education other than the BBC.

Essentially yes... Though I also don't have an issue in theory with people speaking out against the religion as a whole too.
Speaking out against 'Muslims' however is more of a grey area... in some ways it shouldn't be too different to speaking out against 'conservatives' or 'liberals' as you're speaking out against people who hold a particular ideology/set of values (albeit with a magic sky pixie). The issue is that it covers a very broad range of people who've chosen to follow an ideology largely as a result of their background/upbringing, so you'd have to be careful with the generalisation made as they might only apply to a small subset of the group.

Someone saying 'I hate Tories' or 'I hate Muslims' is being a bit silly... As there are Tories and Muslims who have rather different views from other people who are part of their particular ideology.

:)

I can get on board with that.

Read what I wrote

I did but i was talking to the guy who said it werent? Did you see the Muslim brotherhood and Obama links though?

And if so what are your thoughts? The Sinai bit really blew my mind, if The brotherhood won and got Sinai it would leave the canal closed to America and pretty much crush its power in the middle east! If there is one thing a destroyer is vulnerable too it is a bunch of jhadi's at night in a boat packed with explosives coming down from Sinai to the canal.

And you can trail them all the way up from Somalia right into the MED.

Nothing you post makes any sense. Who do you think are the 'moderates and secularists'?

Why is Obama itching to bomb Syria because of something it is alleged and Egyptian said?

I'm lost as to what Rofflay is saying regarding non-extremist Muslims.

He seems to think they're not even Muslims? Are these people the 'moderates and secularists'?

I love the term "wake up" used by so many, as it instantly points you out as a conspiracy theory lover and narrowed minded. Continuing to read posts by those people then serves to actually prove that opinion of them.

Some of the view points and hate in this thread are unbelievable. It's interesting how the disgust/hate that they feel for a particular sect of people is translated to abuse onto other posters who simply do not share the same opinion and therefore are considered the enemy.

The way I think of Islam in other countries, is that it's like we were some years ago, where the church wielded so much power, and abused that power for it's own benefit. The general populace is kept in check through fear and peer pressure to conform, or bad things might happen to you and your family. When it's brought over here, there is a clash with our more liberal modern culture, and so they are easy targets.

As for the EDL leader, really, I couldn't care less. Bunch of guys thinking they are being nationalists when in fact they are acting like thugs and trying to justify it. It is no better than football hooliganism. All they do is serve to polarise the issues rather than actually sorting them out.

Rofflay> Being from Ireland, I suspect you know what I mean when I say that kids feel pressured to go to mass with their folks, because the community is judging them. That's aside from the fact they live for drinking and clubbing on other nights, and basically just going as a token offering. That is how Islam works in this regard, and it's the peer pressure I'm referring to, except it is worse for them.

The oppressive regimes are basically puppet dictators placed in power/supported by western governments / USA so as they can basically steal the countries oil and resources while greasing the palms of these horrific dictators .

The U.S/West don't sincerely want true democracy in these countries as this would mean the end of cheap oil and resources for them.

lol, Paxman is soooooooo out of his depth here :p

:D Apparently you must be extreme to be Muslim  Let's completely ignore other denominations (if that's the term?) like Shia etc... as apparently they wouldn't be true Muslims?

They are not classed as muslims by sunni either or alawite. And that is the view of extreme muslims that all others are non muslim.Where do you think this view came from then? It came from those who studied Islam the most, the scholars and grand imam's.

And to be honest im not sure what to make of muslims who are not extremist.Because the root belief is still the book and the book contains filfth and evil.So are they non muslims? Well considering the quran is so complicated it needs a scholar, and it was the scholars who declared the shia and alawites as non muslims then yes they are i guess non muslims.

You can argue until your blue in the face, call me a bigot or a racist but not once have i told lies in this thread. What i have said about Islam is all available on youtube if you search for it.As are the scholars and thier views on Islam in the west and those that live without sharia.I guess you lot all know more about Islam than the scholars who spent thier lives researching it?

Dont make me laugh

Hi,

Why are the 'West' supporting the rebels who are/were trying to overthrow these dictators?

Thanks.

Either through ignorance or conspiracy.Ironcially it was the BNP who stopped the upcoming invasion of Syria.

Is this true? There is a counter article on the BBC but obviously Nick saw the truth in that all those opposing Bashar al Assad were extremists and terrorists who wanted to kill the alawites and christians. As i said earlier Alawites are non muslims. There was a fatwa against them and since then they are not muslims according to the majority of Islam.

Through the centuries, several important Sunni fatwas [Islamic clerical judgments] proclaimed that the Alawites were not Muslim. These fatwas include three issued by Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328), an ultra-fundamentalist Sunni, considered the leading forerunner of Wahhabism, the state religion in Saudi Arabia. Al Qaeda frequently praises Ibn Taymiyya a a source of inspiration. Ibn Taymiyya's knowledge of the Alawites, however, was imperfect, according to Yvette Talhamy of the University of Haifa, who summarized 650 years of fatwas on them in a 2010 article in Middle East Studies, "The Fatwas and the Nusayri/Alawis of Syria." In 1516 and in the 1820s, high Ottoman Sunni clerics issued even more fatwas against the Alawites that justified their repression.

Now ask the important questions, Why was obama frothing at the mouth to bomb syria? Why did they help bring down gadaffi and why are they supporting the muslim brotherhood in Egypt?

And theres no conspiracy here?

Thanks for clearing that up - so which muslims do you hate ?

We need to stop importing them and let them sort out thier own countries.

This made my day! Do we have to stop importing the japanese ones too? by your earlier statement surely they alone can eradicate all racism!

And please, don't direct any hate my way, concentrate on your argument or you'll lose it.

On a serious note, I've noticed those most concerned about losing the British identity always fail to include it's language. I'm sorry but working in the education sector probably makes me over sensitive to it but surely before learning all of what youtube has to offer it's more important to get a firm grasp of grammar, punctuation and spelling, if only to keep it alive during times of national identity loss.

And before the usual rhetort of "omg wut, yeah man grammar police, ain't important man you're just ignoring the point am mekking", it is important and people will take you more seriously. Not too much but a little.

Continue. And have fun!
