Top Gear returns on Sunday 27th June at 8pm

I don't think the lap times were fixed - Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz have done 30+ movies each and Tom does his own stunts. I imagine that he has had a lot of car control training.

Plus they would both be fairly light since they are small.

enjoyed the show, the photography on toureg section was simply awesome, am always amazed at some of the shots they get.

I though the cruise/diaz section would be cheesy and was pleasantly surprised, even more suprised by the times they posted!

and always gotta love a senna tribute, I too remember the day when the crash happened, and i was glued to my tv screen.

That, and there's only a handful of people on the new lap time board!

I do like seeing major celebrities in more "down to earth" environments like this, it's quite interesting. <3 Cameron

There was nothing at all to suggest it was fixed. Nothing.

Particularly not when we've only got 10 times on the board or whatever and really don't know what the car can do. For all we know people will push it into 1:43 territory.

Just watched TG now, as I watched the F1 "race" yesterday on iplayer when TG was on.

The contrast between racing is apparent (yes, im old enough to vividly remember Senna/Prost/Berger/et al way back then). Still remember that fateful day, my nan died on the same day and...weirdly enough I felt worse about senna dying than my nan. Hero's dying n all that, before his time.

Good TG episode, regardless.

I was not a big fan of the episode. First bit bored me. Veryon bit was alright then skipped the annoying yanks. Senna bit was okay but some bits were a bit boring

Just lol.

TG just cannot win. People moan that is has become too silly and not for enthusiasts any more, then along comes the most 'petrolhead' episode in ages and people moan that it was boring.

You people clearly just don't like TG. Why do you continue to watch it week on week?

I didn't really enjoy the first part with the toureg, but I thought the rest of the episode was very good, really enjoyed the tribute to Senna and watching Hamilton's reaction after driving the car you could see it meant a lot to him.

Toureg bit I found a bit crud imo.

Actually enjoyed Diaz and Cruise, Veyron bit was ok.

The Senna tribute was immaculate, what a man and a racing driver.

Don't know, I've seen every episode they've made in its current form but tonights was bland in comparison. Yes, I am comparing it to other episodes they have done and to me it was dull.
Yup, most petrolhead episode in ages(inanimate time frame) clearly, in an episode that contains a car which is pedal power, did you actually watch the episode? :D

It's not about the show "winning", we can come in here and say it was crap as much as we can say it's my favorite show on TV, or both at the same time.

The Porsche pedal car bit lasted all of what, 2 minutes?

It had a fairly long segment about maxing out a Veyron, and a long (and moving) section on Ayrton Senna which, lets be honest, would not have appealed to anybody but 'petrolheads'. That film would hardly have appealed to the average housewife would it?

So yeah, I stick by what I said, it was the most 'petrolhead' episode in a long time.

My (house)wife watched it, and we're nowhere near petrolheads.

At it's best, Top Gear is a really good magazine show, in that even if you don't really care about the subject matter, it's still interesting and well produced.

- Ice stuff was fast forwarded.
- Veyron bit was okay, but much the same as the first one
- The plugging of the new movie was fast forwarded/skipped and I doubt the laptimes were accurate and not fixed.
- I watched the Senna bit twice, much more interesting to see those F1 cars compared to the slow/safe crap these days.

For people who are slating Top Gear etc, you can go and watch Eastenders instead if that's your sort of thing.
