Total War: Warhammer 2

Still haven't got my Amazon per order (physical limited edition version)! Coming tomorrow apparently but that is a pretty poor show. They did offer £5 credit and a month's free prime but I was hoping to play this today as its the only day off I have in a while :(

Ordered it weeks ago as well with prime garunteef launch date delivery.

Would love to have seen a video of that!

Yh was epic but forgot to save the replay doh! The lizardmen chameleon skirmishers are really good as they can shoot whilst running.

Used Skink Javelins as first line defence, let off a few volleys of javelins before switching to melee then sent the saurus shielded warriors in to reinforce.

At one point they were focusing fully on my left flank so sent in my other units which were doing nothing to encircle them, didn't take long for them to rout once that was done.

Just play with Lizardmen :) You will play those battles.

Here is one of mine 839 against a horde........ (next one was 843 vs horde) and both ambush.

Can see all 4 here

(I do not post images, because firefox has issues some times with the "insert image" functionality on this forum, resulting to make them direct links, and me getting banned. Which in in two months already got me banned 3 times).

Even got the Stuff of Legend achievement today on another battle, which you have to win a battle while you are in 10 to 1 deficit in numbers.

I caved and purchased two as well. As above; what is the best starting race for tutorial/easier campaign?

Out of interest I also have 1 incoming next week; do the campaign maps auto join when two detects one or how does that work?

I'll probably buy it as two does look good. I should start with one right? There is a sort of campaign I can make my way through?

Each race has a different campaign or is it the same objectives?

NO. There isn't any "should" to start with TWW1 if you don't have it already. Makes no sense. Buy TWW2. There is no continuation as things happening "in parallel" between the two games.

Both have different campaigns on different maps, while TWW2 is much better game where all 4 factions play completely differently with different mechanics.

Nothing beats seeing Cold ones chewing their food, err i mean their opponents in battle.

Not yet, in few weeks time there is going to be a patch joining them.

I disagree, I would still buy WTW1 for cheap because it's a much more mature product with almost 2 years of mods out for it. It may be a couple of months yet before WTW2 is really worth playing... currently a lot of bugs and annoyances are being reported.

The vortex campaign is essentially pointless as you can just ignore all of the ritual stuff and play the final battle instead.

I'm not going to touch the game until the Mortal Empires combined map is released and the races for the first game patched into custom battles.

Didn't say TWW ain't worth, especially discounted, but isn't mandatory to play before TWW2, and haven't seen any game breaking bugs

The one few people reported about the Saurus and the Kroxigors not attacking, has nothing to do with bug. Is just the units are massive, taking a lot of space.
They shouldn't be pilled up like rats or humans.

And this one? https://forums.totalwar.com/discussion/comment/1929728#Comment_1929728

The AI is still pretty damn awful too and in some ways a step back from TWWI, plenty of threads about it on the official forums. The intervention armies are also clumsily implemented. The vortex campaign is just a gimmick with no longevity.

Mortal Empires and the implementation of the other races cannot come quick enough.

Those who find the HE campaign difficult at Legendary, make sure you build the building giving money and order to all towns in provinces until you don't need it.
HE money is directly affected by the Order rating and you can see that when you hover the mouse over the income.

Regarding the Vortex race in WTW2, you don't even have to do any of the rituals to win the game, you can simply build your strength and wait for another race to complete all of the rituals, and then defeat them one by one in a very easy final battle. Talk about making it pointless...

Lets face it. The thing everyone is waiting for is the patch for the combined campaign map from the first and second game. Having the vortex campaign is just there to keep people busy while they wait for the combined campaign :).

Exactly what I've also been saying, it's just a shame that CA wasted development time on that in order to justify a stand-alone game instead of just working to make it the best combined experience possible from the start.

Not waste of time for myself. I would like a campaign separate to the larger campaign map. Although as you say turtling and waiting to go for end game battle without having to do the ruins yourself is an odd view but then I think it is more that if they did it that way you would still have to control the map and thus to do that you are already basically at the end battle.

It would have been better to have it so the ruin system to unlock the end game can be triggered by them and if you cannot get to the end battle in 'X' turns you are at a loss and also of course you have to win the battle. But yes I want the game they are giving us as I don't see anything major by combining the map as it is just a colour the map your colour again then anyways with no real end game to it. That was always the issue with the older Total War.

I would have liked things to played out on the combined map with the vortex and chaos still doing their thing which doesn't appear to be the case so it only seems to be half hearted.
