Total War: Warhammer 2

How can we forget it's a business when we are paying them good money? It's priced above the average for a PC game too.

And that's relevant to my point about the release date being out of the developers hands? Pricing and release date will be dictated by Sega (and likely linked to games workshop charging a pretty penny for licensing). The fact is the content isn't ready, there is plenty to play for the 6-8 weeks until the larger campaign is released (which was communicated well in advance). If that isn't sufficient for you then wait until the patch drops? Or is this simply about complaining for the sake of it?

Anyway back to the game, really enjoying the lizardmen so far, liking the fact that I can eat the captives at the end of a battle to replenish a portion of units.

Game engine :
Never saw before such CPU hog :D

I was ready to denounce the 8700K and wait for the Zen+ in February, but my 6800K @ 4.3Ghz core usage is taking heavy beating with the TWW2.
One core (6th) at 100% constantly. The 5th core hovering between 75-100%, 4th core around 40-50%, cores 1-3 hovering each between 25-45%.
The 6 HT threads are 0% to 3% max.

It seems though that they fixed the engine and tries to run at the cores not the threads.
TWW1 was trying to run at the last thread mostly, which was greatly effecting the performance on CPUs that do not use Ring topology. Like AMD Ryzen and SkylakeX, hence we had the side effect i5s running faster.

While I was running the benchmarks to find the optimal setting, the GTX1080Ti perf tanks at DX12 by 30%, even if the CPU is less loaded (still core 6 runs at 100%).

However, the graphics are better on TWW2 than TWW1 on exactly the same settings. Are more crisp and colourful.

Gameplay :

Absolutely blast. Fantastic stuff, played with HE twice and had my bottom handed to me on Legendary, even if it states is easy campaign. Battles brutal as hell and some of the HE factions are evil backstabbers, while troop quality is pathetic at the start and Tyrion is crap.

Quick hint. Dont put Skinks near your own Croxigors. They might start flying as they sweep with their weapons at the enemies.......
Just had my skink hero suffering just shame, flying over 10 meters away from battle. So funny

Seems like a bug to me, normal units shouldn't be affected when fighting side-by-side with heroes?

I'm playing as Tyrion for my first campaign, currently about 60 turns in. I'm finding the initial spearmen and archers and absolute blast to play with.

Attack them with archers, pin them with spearmen then SMASH with cav.... :D
