Total War: Warhammer 2

Great game realy enjoying it.

Only playing on normal difficulty with the elves but still a fun game only thing i wish the elves had was a siege weapon/catapult all they have is the eagle bolt thrower

Regarding the Vortex race in WTW2, you don't even have to do any of the rituals to win the game, you can simply build your strength and wait for another race to complete all of the rituals, and then defeat them one by one in a very easy final battle. Talk about making it pointless...
Just because that is the way you have chosen to play it doesn't mean others will. I am actually enjoying playing it PROPERLY and doing the rituals.

You cannot be surprised if you do not enjoy something when playing it in a way that was clearly not intended.

Oh christ... play it in a way that was not intended? It is simply sloppy and bad game design, you shouldn't even be able to do that. At all. It clearly shows the vortex mechanic was an afterthought thrown in to help justify the price of a full release and is basically here to tide us over until Mortal Empires arrives.

Honestly, the levels of apologism I see in reaction to genuine game design flaws kills me sometimes.

PS: And make no mistake, I am a die hard fan of the first game... hence why I am so disappointed in the second so far.

I really want to play this, as a huge Warhammer fan and missing out on the original (due to not having a PC then :p), but the playable races are probably my least favourite in the Warhammer universe :p

Might just buy 1 for £17 and then when the big campaign goes live, pick up 2. Is 2 much better than 1 in terms of mechanics or are they pretty similar?

The first is well worth getting, as with all DLC/FLC and using mods it is an amazing experience, one of the best game I have ever played.

Read reviews for the differences between 1 and 2. :)

Just finished my first w2 campaign at about just over 200 turns, as the high elves on hard. I won by doing the vortex victory. Quite hard later on but then the last battle was quite easy with my lord at 40 and his two followers also at 40. Have to say the high elves were a bit boring in terms of nothing special about them. Just started a lizard man campaign and having much more fun.

Tbh every time I see you post it is negative about a game so I normally just ignore you. Think I will go back to that.

Indeed HE battles are bit boring, because are the typical Total War army, and very similar to TWW1 armies.

Lizardmen are the most fun, especially when you get units that eat their opponents. :D
Mind though do not stack anything bigger than Skinks. While Saurus aren't monstrous/cavalry have twice the size of a normal human "unit". So if you pile them up only the front line it attacking. Use flanking.
Keep away any of your own units from the Kroxigors path, if you do not want them to flying over also taking damage. Kroxigors, are good to drop them inside 4-5 enemy units, and heal them with a Skink priest. When they are in the fray, then use a Skink melee unit to attack the flanks, but keep a mind when they are getting too close. Move the Skinks away.

Also, while HE are bit boring, they aren't that boring if you run 16 man stack, on Very Hard battles. (there is a Battle slider hidden when you set up the campaign inside the second menu).
I find it fun to play Legendary campaign difficulty, with VH Battles (max battle difficulty).

Yup, please do that if you're not capable of a logical and rational conversation and save us both the valuable finger energy. :)

Lizard men, Skaven and Dark Elves are my favourite in that order. I really cannot wait until mortal empires is released and all the races available in custom battles, it's going to be pretty damn epic. Not to me too when all my favourite mods are back up and running. :)

As I progress into the Lizardmen campaign, I really like the Skink Hero. He is a damn lunatic with the bow killing 110-130 enemies in rapid succession, runs out of arrows and then switches to melee for the rest.
Even Kroq Gar cannot keep up with him.

I had 2x skink heroes in my last custom battle and they were absolute monsters, both survived the battle with tons of health and plenty of kills. They seem really hard for enemies to pin down.

They are really fast, while doing damage on the move. I just make sure they are far away from the big hitters like Kroxigors etc. Or else they receive AOE damage, which is funny when it happens because they swear.

The only issue that bugs me with TWW2 is Khemri been Vampires instead of Tomb Kings.
(until the DLC comes out ofc)

What are your problems?
There are some major problems with the game, namely the vortex mechanic being a bit rubbish, intervention armies being useless or unfair, battle AI being crap, and AI army compositions being silly to name some of the biggest. If you read the official forums you will get details. :)
