Heh. That is a crazy price. I got all the DLC for the first one for about £26 I think and I payed £39.99 for the second one on pre-order.

Do the two games have different races? Or is two similar races but just updated.

Yes the two games are completely different both on maps and races. They will be joined in a single massive grand campaign in few weeks time, if you have TWW2.

The game is a campaign, different one, per race. In addition on TWW1, there are some mini campaigns for Beastmen and Wood Elves, on top of the world one.

So I can play each race as a story? Campaigning style? What ultimately turned me off Shogun and RT2 was the game-play was simply never ending. In the sense that you play single player over and over again.

I also didn't enjoy it much.

I missed the Warhammer 1 train. Do you lose anything by starting with 2? I'll try to get 1+DLC when it next hits the sales.

EDIT - Just found 1 (Old world edition) for 14.85? Worth a punt?

I've just noticed that Nvidia recommend a 1080ti for this at 1400p 60fps! :eek:

Is it really that taxing?

I play it on an i7 3930k @ 4.4Ghz with an Nvidia 980Ti on medium settings and get decent performance at 1440p (although I have unit size set to Ultra).

If you want to run it at that rez at ultra, I would say so, yes.

At 1080p 60Hz, ultra settings, with FXAA it maxes out my 1070 @ 2025Mhz with 100% useage in places.

I'm playing everything at ultra at 3440x1440 and it's very smooth no issues.

Really enjoying it, playing as the high elves. Feels a more crisper wh1 game which I loved.

Had an epic battle earlier, 4000 skaven vs about 1500 of my lizardmen troops, was ambushed as I searched for treasures. Managed to position and set up quite well and wave upon wave crashed against my shielded saurus warriors, think I only lost around 300 troops to their 2000+ casualties.
