Cure for cancer? not followed SAR but in USA DNDN got a product approved last year after first finding positive results in 2000. Might be comparable in timescale and to just how massive it can move.

Think I prefer oil and gold, wish I'd waited till now to buy back RRL, added some
Nice move on STAN and HOIL recently, fully tradable :) Egypt president seems more moderate then I expected, could be CEY proves cheap in time

There is a rumour going round that the company SAR is in negotiations with is Dendreon. How much truth is in that I don't know but SAR is going back up today! :)

Today's top traded #shares are Lloyds Banking Group $LLOY, Barclays $BARC, BT Group $BT.A, Red Emperor Resources $RMP and Aviva $AV.

This is a pretty big broker, must have a fair bit of volume going through its books even if small investors. Funny how RMP is stuck with the other boring shares, small investors swarming interest on that one?
Important to note I think, where as nobody much has a clue on CAD or HER or dozens others?

Questor tipped GENL on weekend, only a few thousand follow him on twitter. He does quality info, so that is a disparity. Well worth noting stocks he likes as he spends all day looking at commodity market trends (reporting) afaik which is more then I know

PDL about halved in price now, no great trouble just diamonds taking a knock. Who'd look at diamonds as profitable in such bad times, which is why I like it as do the new asia wealthy allegedly

Yep, sorry about that, it was all looking great a year or so back, not so much now, just going to forget about it then perhaps in 5 years time all well with the world............

Yeah definately a back of the drawer one :D

I need to start getting back into some shares, been sat doing nothing with the few I have left - although I put another £2k in GKP the other week at 215, was either them or into CNR at 55p....

Bit past back draw, it's a leave it in a field and perhaps Tony Robinson will dig it up in 1,000 years when it's worth something.

Not invested anything myself for a while, might get back into it soon, no idea in what share though!

Is Intel upto anything or due to release a new line ? mobile chips maybe, now ARM is the worlds most used cpu afaik
Warren Buffet bought 200m worth but has sold them fairly quickly after, Im wondering why when he holds not trades.

Instead he owns 17.5% of IBM now. Ive been into Intel on and off since 2007, generally undervalued I think but when Europe next blows up I expect them to be a bargain again, nice div :)

BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY

ABG takeover bid, been too cheap too long - http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2012/08/16/1120661/awaiting-an-african-barrick-endgame/

Whats the div on Intel?

Aviva go ex div on 15th Sept for interim div. 10p a share, current price of 321p.

Combined with the 16p final div in 6months it makes a decent yield. Hoping for a drop before I get in. 280 a few weeks ago was a good opportunity.

Cisco upped their div 75% today from 1.7% yield now and shares up 8% now
Intel is 3.4% yield or 21 cents every quarter and only 11 PE ?

Generally all the big tech which have been making profits for years are good stocks. I should have held conviction on this from last summer when apple was half the price it is now.
Still I reckon a giant fiscal meteor is going to land at some point and make these companies cheaper, hope I can buy then. ie. Lehmans 2.0 or whatever you want to imagine, upsets ahead imo but positive global gdp

Aviva has regularly appeared attractive, exposed to europe apparently 8% yield. I like Standard life, 5% yield and quarter in Canada - but better to buy on doom & gloom. One time they were valued 3bn, cash in bank = 3bn PRU could be best as its growth in Asia
CAD is near to cash balance value I think. HOIL is in theory below cash value, but its complicated now and the money is in escrow but its theirs imo

Lots of bargains basically :)

I've held standard life since day 1 - capital value hasn't increase greatly from my buy price of 218p (273p today after nearly 3 years) but the dividend is decent and i just reinvest for more shares. I think long term there is good gains on Standard Life - solid company.

Steady there, 17.5% of his portfolio is made up of IBM, of which he owns about 6% of.

He doesn't own 17.5% of IBM ;)

Not a bad play I guess considering the EPS drive IBM are on plus the share by back they have said they'll be doing.

I really should sign up to the staff share scheme where you get them taken out of your pre tax pay, that's a hell of a saving, but have to wait 5 years before you can touch them without incurring any tax.
