We play Mata and Rooney together now, throw in Januzaj and you have three number 10's on the pitch.

Yeah, And look how that's working for us. Not very effective.
Against Fulham, we were crossing like crazy - breaking records even.
And we were effectively by-passing the No.10s who were on pitch.

If Moyes intends to work the ball on the ground, with quick passing, cutting through defences, then (3) top quality No.10s could work. But if he wants to focus on wingers, I wouldnt spend money on any more No.10s. I'd get 2 super quick wingers who can cross accurately.

And you know that we're looking at him to play the '10' role do you?

Of course not... that's why I asked the question in the first place.

Why do so many people on these forums just look for hostile reactions? Why not just discuss it instead?

Where would YOU like to see him played? How do YOU think he would best fit into the United squad? Holding midfielder? Winger? Go-to playmaker? Who should make way for him to fit into this position?

Do YOU think he will be good enough away from his preferred position to justify the transfer fee (which will presumably be in the ~£40m region)?

Again, selective quoting, how about you quote the rest where I discussed it with you?

Bayern have Gotze, Thiago and Kroos who all play this number '10' role How do they fit them all in every game?

I agree, it's getting ****ing pointless posting in here.

A lot of Man Utd fans dont seem to understand this concept.
When Mata joined Man Utd, some fans genuinely believed that over-night the team were going to be increase their points scoring rate. On this very forum fans were creaming themselves over having Mata, RvP and Rooney.
I was thinking to myself that while Mata was a good purchase (he gives more options), this is not a solution to the main problem..

You are just making stuff up. Every single United fan on here that I can think of understands that concept well. None of them thought it was the answer, none of them. They were excited to be getting a quality player, not one single person on this forum thought that he was anything other than the start of the re-building that needed to be done and that it was a very good starting point.

It didn't matter that it wasn't a world class left back or Center Mid. The ones they would be after were not available, Mata was. You don't pass up a player like that just because he's lower on the priorities of players when the ones you want aren't available until the summer.

Everyone on here knew it wasn't the solution to the main problem, show me a United fan who thought he was the solution. They are right to be creaming themselves with the front line up, when the other pieces are put in place by whoever has the job Mata will do a good job.

Any sensible manager buys players to fit the system they have identified, not a scatter gun approach and buy in players for the sake of it. we know u are a mosyite but do u think he knows how to fit all these 10's into a coherent system? Add into the mix Kroos ( another number 10) Why would he be looking at him after the mata purchase and with Rooney and kagawa and januzaj?

Perhaps he is going for a 41111111 formation? Kroos playing the behind, behind, behind, behind striker role. :D

Rodwell to Wigan on loan, good signing for Wigan that.

Indeed, he had a bright future but is all but on the scrapheap. He could have gone to the world cup this year but like Jeffers believed his hype far too early and joined a team where he would never realistically force his way in.

2 more years at Everton and we maybe have even found out where his best position was.

Cos Kagawa is rubbish (ignoring that he's currently one of the best players there) so you buy better and move him on. Or, more effectively, keep Kagawa, try him out in midfield proper and move on the dross like Cleverly and the fat one.
