Hence why he's on ignore and has been for about 4 years :D

The Scottish/German who hates England and posts rubbish constantly.

Lallana won't be going anywhere. Shaw i expect to go in the summer but i hope we can keep him for longer. All depends on what happens to the club long term.

The same was said about Chelsea stockpiling midfielders, it's a squad game nowadays and you need to pack the squad out with quality which has been severely lacking this season.

What makes me laugh is the 'lolercaust' type posts from the usuals, all we've heard all season is how **** we are and how we need to strengthen significantly, yet when we are linked with players it's a joke all of a sudden :D

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. OcUK at it's finest

As you touch upon, the future of Southampton's up in the air at the moment. With it looking likely that your owner wants to sell and a very realistic possibility that your manager will leave in the summer, it's difficult to say with any certainty that players won't leave.

It's a squad game, yes, but you can't have three world-class players for a single position, and a much weaker team elsewhere. United need to strengthen, definitely, but in the right areas. They already have a wealth of talent in this position.

You brought up Chelsea. This is the perfect example really... Chelsea had Oscar and Mata, both of whom were world-class number 10s. In the end, Oscar was the preferred starter, while Mata warmed the bench for six months. Though he was fantastic in previous seasons in the playmaker role, he didn't perform as well when he was played out of position, and was sold.

It's not just about collecting every talented player you can persuade to come to your club. It's about strengthening in the right areas. You can't expect to buy world-class players and have them warm the bench all season. Nor can you assume that you can play them out of position and have them perform to their best. Some players are extremely flexible as to the position they play, but others are not.

It's not "damned if you do, damned if you don't". It's building an effective squad. United need to purchase top players in the right positions, not collect playmakers.

Yes. Carry on posting them if you wish. Purdy stop being a whining tart.

This is why i don't post in here. Better of reading the noob/troll comments. Yes we all know who they are.....

There are far more entertaining things to do then getting in to a heated debate.

And you know that we're looking at him to play the '10' role do you?

Bayern have Gotze, Thiago and Kroos who all play this number '10' role How do they fit them all in every game?

We play Mata and Rooney together now, throw in Januzaj and you have three number 10's on the pitch.

A lot of Man Utd fans dont seem to understand this concept.
When Mata joined Man Utd, some fans genuinely believed that over-night the team were going to be increase their points scoring rate. On this very forum fans were creaming themselves over having Mata, RvP and Rooney.
I was thinking to myself that while Mata was a good purchase (he gives more options), this is not a solution to the main problem.

Our main problem is our midfield. Until we buy an engine man (someone like Patrick Vieira or Roy Keane), Man Utd will struggle....UNLESS they get a top manager.

The way Moyes wants to play (ie. a physical type game, using power and lots of crosses), we need box to box midfielder and also a powerful/tall header of the ball. I actually think that Crouch (or similar) would be great value for money (assuming that Moyes wants to focus on crossing).

It all depends on how Moyes wants to position his players. For all we know, he wants to play with RvP up front with Rooney, Mata and Kroos, just behind (all playing in the No.10 role).
